Nice to play if you're a Dr Who fan, expands on the lore a bit. I'm not sure what made this game such a critical success, it seems fairly by the numbers.

I've been playing LakeFeperd's games for the past decade, and I can say this one is the best yet, I enjoy following their journey, and it's always exciting to see what's next.

This game is a 100/10 for $20. Yes, it will probably take you less than 10 hours to do one playthrough, but in those hours, you get an absolute bang for your buck with super high-speed action the whole way through. Trust the reviews; the gameplay is actually better than any sonic game in the last 20+ years, better than the adventure games. Yeah, I said it! It has the treasure hunt gameplay, it has the countdown races, it has actual driving, Gundam fights, comprehensive tutorials, (arthritis-inducing) beat 'em up combat and more! Serious, what are you doing reading this? Play this game right now! (and no you don't need to play the first two first, the story does a good job recapping).

A big * before I give this bit of critique. You don't play a Sonic game for the story, and the same rule applies to Spark, at least so far. I find Spark 3's story intriguing here, but it's undoubtedly where the game falls the flattest. The story's cutscenes are generally an improvement from Spark 2. However, I feel the directional flow of this story (like Spark is on a journey to take down the Fark Force) was weaker. The various spin-off stages which form a web around the main areas didn't feel like they had a story purpose, and indeed going from area to area had very little story integration.

In case LakeFeperd reads this, I would recommend adding Voice Actors for the characters to give them a bit more personality, and perhaps Sonic Forces-esk radio chatter in-game (feels weird recommending something from Forces, but here it is). This would provide more context to what's happening in the overall story (and explain why Spark/Fark) are visiting an area. It would also probably be easier than adding more cutscenes too, although it would require a much larger script. The result of the Voice Actors giving context would give the overall story more direction/motivation. And given the ending (no spoilers), I think this is totally doable for Spark 4.

Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
