Something kept me going for 50+ hours but now I think I fully understand this game.

1) It fails to capture any WW1 atmosphere. You could replace the character models and weapons with those from any other war and the game wouldn't change a bit.

2) Artillery is hollow and overpowered - games like Squad create a sense of "RUN!" that this game doesn't. The artillery is hyper accurate and usually it's one or two shells only. This means it is basically a free kill mechanic that adds nothing to the game but frustration for the player on the receiving end.

3) The community is small and it is not uncommon to see one or two players with 50+ kills and few to no deaths completely control the entire server. Is it hacking or leveraging of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game mechanics? Neither would surprise me.

4) The maps look great, but play like ♥♥♥♥. You will get headshot across the map very often because either you are in a common spot or you are in the open. Those are really the only two choices though.

5) You can play in a very "cheap" manner and get many kills, but it doesn't require any real tactical ability; knowledge of the maps is all that is required to achieve this.

It has something to it akin to COD 2 multiplayer which is very fun, but this game needed more balancing and polish. Quite dissapointing after reading great reviews, but those were from this games initial release and do not reflect the current game. My meat boy is getting soft.
