If you want to know how authentic this remaster is. They kept the voice screwups and even lipsynced them on top. Great way to rexperience or even experience Oblivion for the first time. Jank and all while fixing the worst bits like leveling.

Sure there's a ton of isometric loot based ARPGs, but how many actually try to capture that Diablo 1 experience of being the lone soul working through a dungeon that only wants you dead? The additions to the D1 formula are especially nice with a mix of the classic spellbook system and skills unique to every single weapon type in the game, like being able to reflect ranged shots for a build that uses a shield and stacks armor. Other QoL things like being able to teleport to the exit stairs to the next level once you've found them also help in exploring the entire level despite you finding the exit sooner than expected.

Seriously, if you're a fan of the D1 formula and stuff like FATE, then you're in for quite a treat.

Simple to get into, but the sheer amount of build possibilities with gods, items, race, and class along with the difficulty cycles you unlock make for tons of replayability. Also its satisfying as hell to see a metric ton of damage numbers pop up from a single well done prayer.

Seriously, quit this paid mods malarky and put more work on that FO4 update and fixing Starfield. You picked the worst time to drop this update.

It's quite an achievement for Bethesda to actually forget one of the biggest strengths in making worlds and just toss it all aside for running in constant straight lines. For being part of an exploration guild this game has possibly the worst exploration aspect out of all their games with the sheer copypasting and the like. Doubly so not helping that the actual space aspects feel practically non existent with how much you fast travel around and not actually fly in your ship aside from a shooty minigame.

I really hope Bethesda can manage to turn this around with some free updates and not lock some much needed improvements behind DLC. But as of now just go and play Skyrim, or Fo4, or any other beth game for a better experience at what Bethesda actually does well.
