this game slaps honestly

really doesn't deserve the mixed reviews as they did a complete 180 with the game design
I haven't played the original version, but I can say that they put crack in this one

questionable balancing and major performance issues (frames and server) but defo a really fun and solid foundation of a game!
really tickles the bayverse transformers itch somehow

I'd give it a go if that sounds interesting, I mean.. It's free!

the game overall is a nice little "time waster", even if it can be finicky at times.

unfortunately, the developer put models in the game that were made by AI.
I wouldn't really care THAT much if the dev wasn't so weird about it. This all just leaves a bitter taste in your mouth as you play.
It could've been so simple and easy not to use AI here and still make a great game.. shame :/

hopefully these models get replaced with handmade assets at some point, but I don't really have hope for that, since the dev is already selling a DLC which also contains AI generated models.

As an artist myself, I do NOT support the use of generative AI.
AI should be a tool and not a replacement for lack of skill.

You should defo get this dlc if you enjoy the game enough to get the dlcs.
Although really buggy as of writing this review, I really enjoy all the new mechanics and especially the new characters!

I don't get the mixed reviews apart from the bugs, I personally enjoy what seeker brings to the table and she's really fun to play. The other characters are also really cool and unique, although False Son is feeling a little unpolished and feels more like a modded survivor. I don't care enough about chef but I know that a lot of people do, so I'm happy he finally joined the gang in RoR2!

The new stages are really beautiful and look so cool, kinda sad most of the stages are locked behind the alternate boss route. The Bulwark's Ambry also got more variants, which look epic but feel awful to play on. since they got more complex and smaller, which sucks if you're already 30 items in and you have no wiggle room and fall off the stage quite a lot. I recommend going slow if that's the case lol

tldr; Good dlc, requires polish
