I'm just here for the jong, and this is one of the best digital jong hubs out there

Ignore the Gacha, unless you like gambling I guess

Really fun campaign focused card game that opts to break the mold in a genre often defined by shortform roguelikes.

There's quite a lot of deck variety and the vast majority of options feel good to use, with more and more options opening up the deeper you get into the experience. Granted, I usually just end up playing cards that can eat other cards and get fat stats, but there's something for most oft enjoyed common cardgame tropes. Basically anyone who has played a traditional TCG or CCG will feel at home building decks in this game.

The turn system can be a bit obtuse at first, but the dev has taken strides to make it more approachable. Also this is the only card game I have ever played where the boss encounters are actually intimidating and difficult [albeit sometimes very annoying].

Also the OST is a gigaslapper

Another excellent entry into the growing field of "King's Field-Likes"

A well crafted world and honestly a pretty huge game with lots of incentive for replayability.

There's plenty of stuff I totally missed on my first playthrough, but with the game's multiple endings, there's little excuse to not give it another go.

The combat is pretty simple, as goes the genre, but the majority of weapons are fun to use and the spells feel nice. I have a few balance complaints here and there, but they don't really get in the way of the experience. Most of the issues I had on my first playthrough have since been ironed out as the dev works fast to address community concerns.

Also, shout out to all the voice actors who worked on this game. Some of the performances are a little silly, but I give massive credit to any indie game that opts into a fully voiced game.

This game is an absolute blast, and probably one of the best horde shooters out there.

While the balance is a bit wonky at some points, there are so many viable builds, different weapons actually FEEL significantly different, which is often not found in the genre. Fast and Slow approaches work just as well. I basically couldn't put the game down until I had finally secured a 100Mil Point run.

Play the game, you literally have nothing to lose but time, and it's time well spent. If you like it, toss a coin to the dev, he seems like a nice fella.

Also, Greatsword is the best weapon for the most masculine men, used by those whose chins protrude at least 6 inches from the bottom of their face. [Saw Launcher is cool too]

I took a huge break from this game after playing the initial early access release.

Came back for 1.1, and very pleased with how much QoL has been added since the last time I partook in being a funny vampire. Great game, really smooth combat, and it's clear the devs care a lot about this product given the continued support. Now I can finally forgive them for making Battlerite Royale.

A boss that was essentially Alchemist from Dota 2 called me horrible names and then shield bashed me into a bottomless pit while he was one hit from dead

Fellas, it's peak

But actually this is a really solid RPG. Has the pacing of a more classical metroidvania in terms of combat. You are not some super fancy cool guy, and that's fine. Enjoying my time with the game much more than I thought I would, and I can tell I am nowhere even close to the end of the game. The "Deluxe Edition" stuff bothers me, I will admit. Keep that predatory monetization system out of the Indie Game space please.

Also devs pls add spears, we straight up use one in the intro cinematic but then there are none in game [at least that I have seen]... I beg...

[tl;dr GAME GOOD; YOUR DEMO SAVE TRANSFERS FULLY TO THE MAIN GAME IF YOU PURCHASE, SO THERE'S NOTHING TO LOSE FROM TRYING IT OUT]

-----

This game is a love letter to ARPGs of the past. Although, funnily enough, I really never played ancient ARPGS. Thus, I'm coming into this game without any nostalgia glasses clouding my vision.

Luckily, this game is simply fantastic even if you aren't an OG Diablo player.

The combat is surprisingly smooth, with a natural ebb and flow provided by the supply and demand of potions throughout the world. The RNG can be punishing, but not so much that it will end a run, only in that it may force you to adapt your current plan.

Plenty of builds can work, from wand slingers to bowmen, battlemages to cavemen. The dev has also stated that he intends to add even more variety and flair to what we've got so far, and with such a solid foundation, I am excited to see whatever he adds.

>Gets game about souls
>Looks inside

Memes aside... This game has an absolutely incoherent plot and unclear messaging. Some parts of it are entirely pretentious and insufferable. The fact that this is a follow-up to one of the most intriguing and thought-provoking games I have ever played absolutely baffles me.

The combat is better I guess? Kind of? There are some neat RPG elements. Music is about equal to the first game, but without the crazy peaks. I'm just sad. :(

>First run in years due to new update
>Start fresh
>Get fully upgraded laser
>It shoots in threes, splits in the middle, and ricochets off walls, creating a blinding star shape that covers the entire room
>Nearly die because I can't see anything

Ahhhh... never change, the game formerly known as Monolith, I love you so much

Early Access Review
Extremely good monster catcher/autobattler, even for being in early access.

The designs are cute, the gameplay is fluid, the builds get rather insane.

But most of all, you will love this game if you want a monster catcher with endgame mechanics that actually respect your time. I have *never* seen breeding mechanics in a game better than this one. The game is very transparent about how everything works, and allows players who understand all the mechanics to make some crazy critters.

The world in the game is beautiful and vibrant, with a comfy soundtrack to keep you company.

Anyone who enjoys Monster Catchers OR Auto-Battlers is sure to get something out of Yaoling. [Also, if you come in and are upset about there being no fast combat option, you will unlock it a few hours in, so don't worry]

As of writing this, my only big complaint is there isn't much to do late-game other than crazy breeding experiments to make mega op teams, but the next major update is planned to add the Battle Tower, which will hopefully be an endgame timesink.
