Mandatory play for every metroidvania enjoyer, but honestly it's quite flawed, and so I can't recommend it to casual gamers who aren't into more difficult games. Some enemies have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hitreg (Ghosts can hit your non-existent hitbox if you dash when they fire an attack), rudementary combat leaves little space for skill expression, because almost every enemy has instantenious turn rate, but your character will have action lag after landing, before blocking etc, so the game kind of wants you to play in a specific way in every specific scenario, and rarely leaves any gaps for creative plays. Which is a valid old school game design, but i can see it being unacceptably unfun for normies. The only somewhat difficult bosses are the 2 dlc bosses and second to last true ending boss, i died 2-4 times on each of these, the rest i have killed on first try, which is fine. Art style, OST, map design/exploration experience, progression - everything is on a very high level, I don't have any critique.

An absolute demaster, PTDE visuals mog this version, but of course it's still a 10/10 industry defining Dark Souls 1
