TL;DR:
If you miss when RPGs had heart, soul, amazing stories, gorgeous art, and bosses that don't feel copy-pasted, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is absolutely for you. A small dev team made magic here — support it!

Finally, a Game Made with Love (and Probably a Lot of Coffee)

So listen — Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 just dropped and honestly? It's the kind of game that reminds you why you fell in love with RPGs in the first place. No predatory microtransactions, no "live service" nonsense, just pure, beautiful, hand-crafted adventure.

The graphics? Chef's kiss. 🍷🎨 It’s like someone dared to ask, “what if an art gallery could punch you in the face emotionally?” And the monster/boss designs? Absolute bangers — it feels like every fight is against some dark fantasy Picasso fever dream.

The story is actually GOOD too — like, sit-back-and-stare-at-your-ceiling-after-a-cutscene good. If you miss the days when games told stories that made you feel things (and not just made you buy battle passes), this is it.

And get this — the dev team behind it is tiny compared to the usual mega-corps who have more shareholders than actual creative ideas. These folks clearly poured their souls into this game... meanwhile EA is out there still trying to charge you $10 for a different colored sword. (No offense EA. Okay, maybe a little.)

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 feels like it was made for gamers, by gamers — not by a boardroom full of people named Chad.

In short: If you like RPGs, if you like good stories, and if you like supporting teams that actually care about what they're making, you need this game.

(Also shoutout to the main character looking like they could cancel me on Twitter and then save the world five minutes later. Iconic.)

10/10, would cry over the lore again.
