I came into this game as a straight dude and am now a pansexual genderfluid furry who drinks a lot, VRchat does things to a MFer.

A very solid expansion that gives a good amount more Half Life to enjoy while sufficiently changing up and adding to the gameplay to make it feel distinct from the base game. The new weapons are pretty fun to mess around with and Race X is a interesting new type of enemy that feels rather different from all the aliens you fight in the base game. It's also pretty interesting to see the different perspective of the marines, there are several moments where you see events from the base game from another angle. Something I specifically I don't like are the new AI squad mates who can fight alongside you as their pathfinding is not great, they are easily killed, and they are capable of friendly fire but they are required in several segments to cut through doors or heal other squad members who then cut through doors. However much like regular Half Life, the good far outweighs the bad.

It's rather short but it's still more Half Life so it's certainly not terrible, just a little underwhelming. Took me about 3 hours on my first playthrough.

Don't let the age of the game deter you trying the first game in this well reputed franchise, it holds up well and it is quite fun with surprising depth to the combat. There are one or two sections where the game feels like it drags it's heels a bit but the good far outweighs the bad.

Great and difficult roguelike for those who enjoy team building and strategy that I played a ton of on my ipad before buying it here, the multiplayer mode is pretty fun too.

100% this game on my xbox and bought it to play with friends here, very good game with great lore and gameplay.
