Fair warning that the game is a tad unstable and is prone to crashing occasionally; With Windows 8 compatibility mode enabled and a few mods, this version of Chrono Trigger isn't half bad! It has everything you expect, minus 2 cutscenes, and some DS exclusive things missing, but it keeps the overall experience in tact and is an enjoyable experience to play.

Some concern areas:
- The aforementioned crashes. They happen every few hours for me during a transition or asset load that somehow borks. It is a bit of a lazy port from the mobile version.
- In 2300AD you have some input puzzles that may not match the controller or keyboard setup you have. You will need to figure out the proper order of what the game THINKS is your button layout. A bit annoying, but nothing you can't get past.
- Some overlapping SFX might make some areas a bit audibly annoying to get through, but this is infrequent and only applies to a few mid-game spots.
- Background SFX not returning after a battle occurs in some areas. From experimenting I concluded that this happens only in select areas and thus is an oversight and not a glitch.
- Stutters when loading assets for the first time in your session. This is not guarenteed, but frequent enough where maybe playing this via an SSD might improve this aspect a bit.
- The time gate travelling scene has significantly shortened. Not my personal preference, but some might like this change.

Overall not the worst Chrono Trigger experience, and the sound quality is very good!

Also Frog is a very good boy and I am smooching both his cheeks and am giving him a hug. :)
