E.Y.E is not a game for the light-hearted, but can easily be fun when you have a solid grip on it's mechanics. If you're just starting out, you'll notice there is a fairly large and extensive RPG element despite this being an Action/FPS title. Do not be overwhelmed! This game is simply trying newer things and mixing up the genre a bit. You can use money you've gained to research new weapons, better abilities, and better cybernetic implants. Your character slowly becomes this god-like being whether you just want to run'n'gun or be more ninja like. Either way, what's infront of you usually dies. A very ambitious title.
Not to mention that there are branching story archs.

The artwork and design is a well blended cluster of Warhammer meeting Cyber-Punk. The weapons feel heavy and powerful. The cities have smog and droopy colors. Everything comes together really giving the world this depressing "hell was already here" look.

Sadly, the Source engine begins to show it's age. That didn't stop the great map development or modelers though. Bugs tend to still pop up and physics can go haywire, but that has not stopped me from enjoying 200+ hours of entertainment. I bought this years ago and still enjoy it. Even if it isn't on sale, I would recommend this game. I can only pray for a solid sequel. I even see this on sale for $1 USD every now and again. Don't let the price tag fool you. It's way beyond a bargain (if you're willing to let go of what you already knew about the FPS genre).

Get it.
Love it.
