The first game in this series created a sense of horror and panic in the players as we were trying to escape from various monsters within the castle. In this game, there is apparently no plot, other than you walked into a castle with your friend and took opposite paths (for some reason), and you two are now bound to an agonizing task (and when I say "task," it feels like trying to learn how to sew a dress together rather than an adventure) of solving various puzzles to get into another room with yet another puzzle. Some of the puzzles my friend and I spent nearly 30 minutes trying to solve, and eventually on Puzzle #10 we gave up. At that point we felt no adventure, there was no plot, there were no horrors, and the urgency in the game to solve the puzzles before one of the players died felt forced and inconsequential. The first game was a blast, but unfortunately this game will go unfinished.
