This game had a rocky start with stability and optimization, and it still has a way to go on the latter, but it's otherwise a very fun game with great gunplay, fun builds, loads of awesome and accessible gear, great boss fights, and a story that's got a much darker tone to it than the previous title. You still get that sassy Borderlands humor, but it's much better balanced than previous games, feeling more like a slightly funnier AND slightly more gritty version of the first game to me. It's also more challenging than the previous titles at a baseline, but once you get to endgame the base game allows you to become powerful to the point of trivializing content, so my hope is the DLC's and other subsequent updates will provide both more activity diversity and accessible end-game challenge with tuneable difficulty.

Excellent story, great characters, fun gameplay loops, driving is a bit ass but that's nothing new for games like this. Mod support is good (I don't use mods tho), Increasing difficulty feels appropriately challenging, and each playthrough lets you approach the game differently every time. DLC also added a TON more story and consequence to the actions of V and Co. Highly recommend you play this if you haven't already, or to boot it up again if it's been a minute.

Outstanding storytelling and voice acting, all with a system that takes 5e rules and makes them make sense in a video game setting. You will ABSOLUTELY miss things on your first playthrough, and your second, and your third... all because there are so many choices to make that will impact the outcome of every encounter you have in ways you might not expect. I've played since the fist BG title, and each one has been better than the last, with this one being such a massive leap forward in technology and accessibility. I plan on just as many playthroughs of this as the previous titles, especially with there being so many different choices you can make and so many different outcomes to experience. Also remember: initiative is rolled on a d4 in this game, NOT a d20! If you like story-driven games with more thoughtful combat and potential for multiple playthroughs, each different than the last in their own way, then this is one game not to miss.

Easy to learn to play, mostly intuitive controls, loot system not completely broken, all challenges appropriate to character level and gear available. Story is a little weak but it doesn't really matter with a game like this, it's just really fun.
