It really feels like episode 2 evolves on everything in chapter 1. Additional mechanics. A very different story, built off of prior foundations. A complex case with many different parties involved. The writing continues to be some of the best you'll ever see. If all of the remaining chapters have this level of quality and intricacy, I couldn't ask for more.

This is the one that makes you fall in love with the game.

I really really wanted to like this game. It's amazing at what it does in basically every way and wears its inspirations on its sleeve, but because it's trying to do so much and be a video game too, it kind of fails at all of it.

The horror mechanics become mostly tedious by the end. The story was underwhelming because it didn't align with my expectations and is mostly something you have to put together from little scraps of lore.

If the second third of the game was the final third of the game, I think I'd give it a positive rating. Instead it went from an emotional high to fizzling out into nothing. The alternate endings were not much better.
