They should have made a spinoff game taking place in a parallel world, not a direct sequel with the same 'world'.

Gameplay is good. Fights are hit-or-miss, with the screen distortion effects making certain fights way more difficult than they otherwise should be. Also, the 'common' / repeating enemies aren't great, and the parts where HP regeneration is disabled suck conkey dong.

Story-wise... I don't like it. The ending is not satisfying, and if there are multiple endings, the 'true' ending is either impossibly difficult or extremely well-hidden. Not to mention, some very strange retcons from the first game.

You can't go wrong with the soundtrack, though. The computer zone in particular has some bangers.

Test chamber 14 isn't "hard" by puzzle standards. I died multiple times just trying to scout out the last turret room where you're given no time, no cover, and one fall to solve it, and after about 15 or so attempts I accidentally solved it trying to get my bearings.

I'd forgive it if this were the only time that happened. This isn't difficulty, it's just flat-out bad level design.


I can appreciate being faithful to the source material, but some of these test chambers REALLY needed a facelift for such a public re-release.

skill based matchmaking is extremely fun, it's my favorite feature of any PVP shooter

Oh my god. This is good. This is like, REALLY good. I did not expect to see Deltarune + Everhood + Guitar Hero, but WOW IT'S GOOD.

Good game. Also, Nintendo can die in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fire.

White and Yellow are finishing the last task, Scanner, where one person dictates the exact direction the other needs to look in to complete.

Everyone is hanging around just outside the room, joking around while waiting for the task to finish. I fire off my shotgun twice whilst announcing with UNWAVERING confidence that it is, in fact, still loaded, and get promptly stabbed by Yellow. Yellow then gets OBLITERATED by the same shotgun, scooped up by Orange who was just asking me if I still had ammo after the first shot. (It had exactly three shots.)


Orange then announces "Alright, hang on hang on, I gotta stop this from happening", walks into the Scanner room, and gets in behind the desk with a knife.

"Alright, nope, no more, do it by yourself white, I'm gonna give you the chance to do it by yourself- WAIT **NOOOOO**"

10/10 gameplay, way better than Among Us.

This game was good up until this latest content update (Seekers of the Storm). If you can revert to the previous patch, I highly recommend it, great game when played this way. Otherwise, wait for patches and bugfixes, but with RoR2 under Gearbox, it seems less likely now than ever...

I cannot recommend the game in its current state.
