If you like arcade games and classic retro games like Star Fox, you'll love this :)

Overall - pretty good. It's slick as hell, and love the art style. The demo feels like a bit of a tutorial, but has some creative ways to work together. The environments themselves didn't give much of a reason to explore, I would have liked a little more of a reason to check out the world.

Some serious lag issues, mainly with the dual-controlled dot puzzles. Either it's a bug, or the devs only ever tested the puzzle on the local network. Was almost impossible for us to complete.

Fun time - some netcode issues to sort out (good thing it's a demo) - worth keeping an eye on.

This might be the game for you - it fits somwhere in the middle. It's not trying to be a hardcore experience, it's a fun and accessible RPG with some of the trappings many of us grew up with, but don't have the time or energy for anymore. You won't find any walls of text - you'll find some good characters, interesting quests, and satisfying combat.

With the right expectations, it's a satisfying experience. Easy to pick up and play, without the massive time commitment of most 4X games. Yes, it's a fairly casual game, but if that's what you're looking for, it's hard to go wrong for the price point.

It's no Alpha Centauri, but certainly a good entry in the Civilization franchise. It's just a shame it lacks the personality of its spiritual roots.
