Pros - Fun game

Cons - this is a game of popups, when you hit the play button you are constantly spammed with popups when all you want to do is finish the military campaign. I played for a few days straight and was very irritated, the reason why was this game and the shear number of thought interrupting popups.

Stop having me verify that I still have access to my email or my phone every couple minutes when I trying to update my account. Give me a login screen like every other game and let me choose one of my characters. I have no idea which one I want to buy a sub for because I cant login to them because your login systems are too complex.

Game is fun until you realize all the flaws.
- Has a unit cap.... why? unit caps are no fun to play with and make for a terrible RTS design
- subterfuge system sucks, there isnt enough to visualize what is happening
- no mod support

This game has potential. At the time of review it is still in early access.

Gameplay: 8/10 - The leveling system is great and feels rewarding, however the dragon randomly killing you very earlier on does frustrate me and will other people too. The game also lacks a pause feature, this is a must to keep me, and others, engaged in solo play. I frequently pause games to get drinks, food, and bio. Having to load out to the main menu once or twice a hour is a game ruiner.

Graphics: 2/10 - There isnt an option to easily change monitors yet and most graphic options do not exist. The lighting looks horrible. The bloom and contrast is way too high and leads to a blurred distance that is pixelated.

Monetization: 10/10 - The game is currently $30 which I feel is a great price point. There isnt an in-game store or other anti-consumer practices.

Mod support: 0/10 - There isnt any support. As a survival game this requires mod support if it is to survive. Mod support will add hundreds or thousands of hours of gameplay to a survival game. The better the support and ease of creating complex mods, the more gameplay I would expect to get out of the game.

Story/Lore: ?/10 - At the time of review I havent gotten far enough into the game to really dive in. The Runescape lore is full of good stories with tons of jokes and 4th wall breaks, I would expect more of that.

Overall: 5/10 - At its current state it still requires a ton of work, I would expect mod support and fixed graphics. The game has a ton of potential for thousands of hours of gameplay. If they made mod support similar to BG3 where it is cross-platform it would draw in huge crowds.

Good game. Ok balance. Should have more units in each division for some factions.

Explained: As a huge fan of modding, which Paradox supports the constant game updates continue to break mods and a large majority of the modding community gets tired of updating their mods to support the new version. And, not to help, the steam workshop is not organized well, as to say the mods are not organized per patch. So, if you spent all day figuring out which mods you want to play with (launching the game over and over) then the game updates the next week. Well, now you lost your save and all your custom civs. I have spent a good number of hours playing this game, but what keeps me from coming back to it, is the fact that everytime I do, I have to spend 4-5 hours figuring out mods again...

Really awesome! I hope to see more games like this. And for 20 bucks it is not a terrible deal. However it was incredibly short, "beat" it in less than an hour. "Beat" because there really is not any losing.
