An excellent roguelite shooter that is absolute furbait.
The gameplay loop is fun, the guns are all very different and encourage a ton of different playstyles.
Coop works great, the scaling can make it more difficult than solo though.
Definitely worth full price, even moreso on a sale if you enjoy roguelites and FPS.

It's Minesweeper with RPG and Roguelite elements. Lots of fun, can be frustrating at times, definitely needs a bit of luck.
Loads of stuff to unlock, great replayability. Great to just drop in and fill some free time inbetween things. Can highly recommend if you enjoy Minesweeper.

After fiddling around quite a bit with my settings I managed to get it to run quite decently. There's still massive frame drops on occasional effects like thunder weapons and dust particles which is still quite unexcusable. Overall if they fix the networking trouble as they announced, the game is in a very playable state, so I gravitate more to good than bad.

TL;DR: Game is great, PC port really isn't.

My rig is around recommended specs (i5 6600k, GTX 970) and boy, I should not be struggling to run this game so hard. There are frequent drops that are nowhere to be found on the console version. I can barely get consistent 60 fps on 720p which is super disappointing, especially after the big promises of a good and optimised PC port.

For the game: It's a great addition to the MH series. A lot of things are streamlined, maybe a tad dumbed down in terms of things like the skill system, but that is not negative per se. The controls feel tight, the weapons are intact with a lot of new and very interesting mechanics.
The endgame is unfortunately very monotoneous and boring, but it's not terrible if you enjoy grinding.

First off: If you are expecting a fresh and new game that has never been done before: This is the wrong game.

TL; DR:
This is a very niche game – it caters to people that want another classic collectathon adventure platformer. It has dialogue like the old games, it plays like the old ones aswell. They didn’t make them new, they just made another one in the series. So, if you loved these old collectathon and want to play another one with pimped graphics: This is the game for you.

+ Beautiful, consistent artstyle
+ Absolutely amazing soundtrack
+ Controller controls feel nice and responsive
+ World feel fresh, different and very large without feeling empty
+ Invisible walls are rare, allows you to take all the jumps and paths you wish (Also allows you to sequence break)
+ Very nostalgic experience, they captured the old style very well

Of course, this game isn’t perfect, it comes with a few annoyances and downsides:
- Camera feels very wonky at times, especially underwater
- Camera snaps into fixed angles in a few areas, usually without a transition, feels very unclean
- Slow text speed paired with unskippable text during choices makes dialogue feel sluggish sometimes
- Weird design choices – You clear a Puzzle you can figure out to get to another Puzzle you can’t clear yet

Overall this game is exactly what I expected, and very good at that. I can only recommend it, even more so if they tweak the camera a little more.
