TL;DR: Don't buy yet unless you are willing to restart the application every 30 mins or so

I found this game very interesting and I think it has great potential. I could spend days playing it, if it weren't for the performance issues. It's as if the game has important memory leaks and, the longer you keep playing (I'm talking sandbox mode), no matter how small the world is etc, RAM usage explodes and the game will inevitably become unplayable or even crash after ~20-30 mins of play. I tried quitting to the menu to reload the level once, but even the menu was unbearably laggy and it crashed.

A (slightly annoying) walkaround that makes this playable is to restart the application whenever the game gets too laggy. This way, you get to continue from your last save (starting with great performance due to low initial memory usage) and when performance goes down again, you repeat. I wouldn't recommend getting the game unless you don't mind doing this over and over.

Major performance issues aside, here are a few suggestions for the gameplay:
- Please save mutation settings in the savefile, I've been running my sandbox countless times while forgetting to turn on the mutations after loading. It's tedious to have to manually set them to the desired values every time I load
- Make species trait information easily accessible. Often I want to check what characteristics a certain species has, and I haven't found any other way to access that information other than the "Mutate" menu. So every time I want to examine what kind of traits my creatures evolved I have to mock-mutate them. Also transition to and from the mutation/being creation screen takes a good while sometimes.
- Would prefer to see a "family tree" of species rather than a "lineage" which is the current feature
- A view where you can see a distribution of selected species in the world map would certainly be interesting.
- Clear marker in the UI of animal species to distinguish between herbivores/carnivores/omnivores - maybe a small icon
- I've noticed that several times I end up with a stable ecosystem where even if I advance the game by several millenia the situation on the map remains about the same. If the game could somehow detect this it could notify the user or take some menaingful automated action. If possible you could even ad a "time jump to convergence feature"
- Speaking of which, I use time jumps all the time and they can get pretty slow, especially if the overall performance has went down. It would be nice to have a feature to cancel the process early and better-customizable years to simulate.

I'm leaving this a positive review because I really think it's a fun game, save for the performance issues. I'm happy to see the dev is active and I hope they keep improving this!

It goes without saying that it's a must for Ancient Greece enthusiasts, but I highly recommend it for non-philhellenes too, as it has a rich storyline, beautiful immersive environment and fun gameplay with all sorts of details to keep it interesting!

You can tell that an amazing work has been done when after playing it for 70+ hours you can still notice new, small, amusing details in the game every time you play.

The only thing that let me down a bit is that I was really hoping that at least this part of the franchise would have the Greek language as a fully implemented option, not just as occasional background chatter!

PS: if, like myself, you also shake the hose at the gas station to get that last drop of fuel that you paid for into your car tank, make sure you wait for a sale before buying :)

Very interesting and fun game. It is woth buying on sale. There is a large amount of possibilities and things to do in-game, although it seems difficult to even survive at first. Another positive aspect is the frequent updating that the game gets, adding new features and making it more diverse! A major drawback though is that it is very demanding in terms of hardware. If your computer is not high-end, don't expect to see those beautiful graphics seen in the trailers.
