DON'T BUY THE GAME. APPEARS TO ME LIKE COVERT PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE.
Bought the game Week 1 as a child with my dad. Returned recently to play it again only to find it will not launch.
Hangs up on "Updating Executable" just to not work, or crashes loading the menu.
No online fix works whatsoever.

I've heard some talk about 2K messing with the launcher. Seems heavily suspicious given it bricks the game, and just a few months before the release of the new game?

You'll buy it and install just to not be able to play.

This game sucks complete ♥♥♥♥. Not only is the game sexist, (in that it locks specific classes to gender), but it's also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow as ♥♥♥♥. Unless you're in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CITY of where the servers are hosted, and your internet is godlike, you'll be clicking an enemy, waiting...AND I ♥♥♥♥ YOU NOT.....LIKE LEGIT, I ♥♥♥♥ YOU NOT.....about 8 seconds for response. On top of all the lag, and ♥♥♥♥ you have to go through, (and don't forget, since you don't wanna' be a girl (or guy), you're stuck with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ class), then you have to deal with classes that overpower others. There is NO balance. I played this game for very little time, no doubt, making me seem less of a good source of review, but I dropped it. Later on though, I had some friends introduce me to FF14:ARR, and it was great, FAR better than this. Cooler races, cooler classes, INCREDIBLE WORLD, fun aspects, incredibly developed crafting systems. Just, leave this game, move to FF14:ARR.
