Imagine Samus Aran had a cat and the cat borrowed the power suit. That's basically this. It's short, sweet, cute, and goofy. Graphically, I kinda like the black and white retro look they were going for but at the same time I wish it had color (other than the palettes you find in the game that changes the tint).

Other than that, enjoyed it quite much. I wish it was longer though. 4 hours maybe 5 tops for this Metroidvania.

This game was dubbed as "the spiritual successor to Myst". This is far from true. While a fun puzzle game overall, it's rather repetitive. You're given a set of lines, complete the sequence, rinse repeat. This game changes it up with different mechantic, but you're still doing the same thing: Drawing lines. There's 0 variety in terms of puzzles.

And the story? As far as I know, there isn't any, or if there is, they drop it at the end of the game (which I did not finish).

With Myst, there was variety and there was at least a story connected to it. Honestly, Myst fans should feel insulted if this was to be called a successor to the series. A more truer word would be "inspiration", not successor.

If you're looking for good brain food, the game isn't bad. But if you're expecting something top tier in comparison to Myst. Look elsewhere.

Fantastic game. 9/10. If you're a casual or veteran FPS player, you will enjoy this game. If you're a HUGE fan of the franchise, then you'll adore it. It feels like a full blown movie. Game plays great overall, had a few glitches here and there but nothing game breaking. Decently long for an FPS game too (about 25 hours).

The look and feel, this developer did their homework. To an extra touch, Peter Wells returns to the voice over work. All I have to say is, finally, a GOOD Robocop Game. Movie -> Games are always iffy at times, this one 100% shines and goes beyond the call of duty.

Again, 9/10.

Imagine if Trine had a fan fic. This would be the game. If you enjoy the Trine Series (and you should if you're reading this review!), then you'll enjoy Degrees as a good filler (yet short) of a game.

Pros:
Plays similar to Trine, except you use hot and cold as the basis to solving puzzles.
Great music, really gave Titanic vibes at certain points.
Most of the puzzles are very well done and not too tough to solve.
Graphically, very pretty. Not AS pretty as Trine, but pretty enough.

Cons:

*VERY short game, can be cleared 100% in under 10 hours, which is a shame was hoping for more.

*The story is very lack luster, there's little story starting out but then it goes into a huge heavy uWu love story between the characters. Ergo, Trine the Fan Fic.

*Knowing what scarfs you picked up, could have been designed better. It is very hard to see depending where you're at on the level what you've collected and what you're missing. It blends in bad in the background.

If you can grab this on sale, it's worth at least $5 and it's a good filler til the next Trine game comes out.

This game has promise. Looking forward what else they may dish out.

In terms of game play, this game is VERY repetitive. View cut scene, standard floor to floor dungeon, clear the dungeon, possibly a boss, rinse repeat.

Dungeons aren't randomly generated so you can return to the dungeon if you need to grind.
Dungeon layouts don't change much except the landscape and background, except the darkness area which limits your sight a bit but not by much.

Enemies are reskined foes you'll constantly encounter, it feels they got lazy near the end point of the game. You have about 7 different types of enemies and that's it. Also, they don't get any tougher (other than more HP etc) in terms of skills.

What drives this game is the story, and overall it's a really good one. Honestly, if the game play wasn't a mind dulling button masher, I'd likely finish it to get the other endings.

Not a bad time killer of a game, but nothing fantastic either.

Classic game lives up to the FMV style. Some things are corny and granted I kinda wish the game's ending was better, it's still a great game.

It was patched overall very well and used the GK project nicely. If you've never played a horror/FMV style point n clicker. GK2 is certainly a banger and runs overall great on modern hardware with little to no issues.

The finale was a bit buggy and you have to click differently, but beyond that. Great game as always!

There is one word that can sum up Silk Song: "Unbalanced". While SS was an overall fun play, it was not as good as the original HK as this game repeats several mistakes the first game did and is brought over to the second game with extra headache.

The two things that were QOL in SS was the story and when you killed, you don't have to fight your shadow to get your currency back.

The compass mechanic returns once again, were you must waste an ability slot JUST to see yourself on the map. Granted at the completion of this playthrough, it's not an overall huge issue, as you don't find any other useful accessory for that slot (except for one that allows hanging on the wall). Still an annoyance though, as I've played many Meteroidvanias in the past and NO game requires this in order to utilize the map.

HK was already a challenging (and fun) game, and in SS they decided to up the difficulty, which was more of a downgrade than upgrade.

*Nearly everything takes two HP or more whenever you get hit.
*If you get hit while trying to recover, you are punished both in consumption of your MP AND you do not get healed. This was already an issue in the first HK, a QOL improvement would have been nice to where your silk(MP) isn't consumed.
*Majority of the 'run backs' as they call it to the boss are very tedious and are tiring to the player. While HK did have some bad run backs, the amount that is in SS is way over done.
*Tools are a neat aspect in this game, however, you are punished for using them. If you fail on a boss way too many times, you'll eventually be forced to grind the shards (which could take up to an hour to farm). The only time I ended up using a tool if I felt was "This is the run." If the game didn't autosave upon death, it would be a simple reset then try again, vs wasting almost an hours time grinding for the shards again.
*Majority of the boss foes are extremely erratic in execution of their actions and/or random with them. For quite few, some bosses have two of the same animations but they could execute either move. While mastering patterns to avoid attacks is one thing, being able to know what's next is another. It got to the point of simple guess work and luck. Did you guess right what the next move is? If not, get punished. Bosses a lot of times would do 1 move 4 times in a row, then switch it up with another move. Everything was random, it could be 3 times in a row or just once. A lot of the bosses, it felt like little to no accomplishment was attained as it is a matter of "guessing" what they will execute next. HK did not suffer this problem til near end game tier fights (which makes sense). For SS, it's nearly every boss.

Everything else about the game is great, particularly with the story. Although, the game encourages you to 100% it for, reasons I won't say. The game is responds with its controls and handles well.

I do have to agree with all these negative aspects, it did feel like the Devs gave the middle finger on this one, especially after I finished main game for the first time.

If Steam allowed Neutral reviews, this game is a thumbs in the middle. 5 out of 10.

The Borderlands series still suffer from the same issue as the previous games did. It is too easy to get knocked down from full health and shields in two or maybe three hits. The whole "PLAYER IS DYING HELP THEM UP!" over and over again, is just redundant.

Aside from that, Tiny Tina's humor in this installment is some what forced at times, unlike BL2 DLC. The
appreciation of D&D is there and there are some good voice actors one will recognize.

But that is not enough to save this title of the constant assists you need from other players or getting lucky with e death save (that is killing a foe while you're down to get revived).

At this point, no more Borderlands series for this gamer, it just keeps suffering from the same issues.

This game takes homeage to Doom/Quake/Blood and they did a fine job on that.
Being a 'modern' take, it would have been nice to give some story background mostly because this game DOESN'T have a manual to read like you had back in the day. A simple wiki look up solves this, but still.

Control, music, and all the weapons do a fine job.

The biggest issue of concern I had with this game was having no map. While for the most part, the game is linear, there are times you're not sure where to go and you find yourself spending up to an hour figuring out where to get your bearings. Other than the anti gravity level, the wall climbing (it kinda works but can cause motion sickness at times the way it controls), and the insanity of the level prior to the final one. This was a solid game. I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel or similar games like this in the future with the above suggested feed back.

This is was overall a GREAT game but keep reading as I want to give you the good points first then the bad.

First the good:

Graphics: Hands down 10/10. One of the most breathtaking graphics I've seen in an indie/other genre game in a while! From the shiny purple grass to the breath taking sky. The devs really worked on this.

Control: The control is about as on par as the graphics 10/10. Astor responds with fluid motion and I felt I was one with the character. Anytime a mistake happened, I felt like I'm the one that goofed up.

Music: 7/10. Not bad, but not fantastic. Most tunes are a mellow / asmr kinda vibe. Sometimes it went with the game and other times it didn't.

Story: 5/10 The story wasn't bad, wasn't anything fresh once the we got to the end of the game. The narrator expressed the main character over well like reading from a book. It's like the narrator KNEW was about to happen but you as the player didn't. Astor is a silent protag - which overall here works well but there were some parts I felt that Astor should have voice. So at times, it felt like it was lazy writing.

Now here's the bad:

The game glitches A LOT. About 1/2 the game, the block just "stopped" working. At first, I thought it was my controller, so I checked Windows and the button respond in the test setup. Only restarting the game or reloading it will work again. It happen just randomly at times too.

Another glitched that happened is the navigator that directs where to go, at times it will tell you backtrack to the previous location for some unknown reason, so as the player you feel you're missing something. Just keep going and eventually it will "fix itself".

The final glitch has to do with the golem boss when you refight him. DO NOT use the earthquake ability on him otherwise, it glitches him out and becomes immuned to damage.

The last thing but nothing bad - Astor is very OP. So this game isn't too hard overall (I almost did this deathless). Still overall fun and casual.

But the glitches were pretty bad and I can't fully recommend something that has these issues. I hope the devs address these issues (this there only game and the rest phone games).

I do believe the devs / company that made this HAS promise because this overall a really great game, which the exception of the glitches. Get this game IF you ready to face these known problems but certainly sale. I did get my $10 worth.
