Spitz and Twinbeard, Community Managers for the game, encouraged me to put my displeasure here on a Steam Review, so I will.

The PSN account requirement thing was a bait and switch, no matter if they point out that it was on the Steam page. It was turned off at launch, they did not say it was going to come back and be a hard requirement, they did not message it again until now, and that's lame of Arrowhead to do. Spitz and Twinbeard are also toxic, awful community managers who antagonize the community at a similar rate of doing anything helpful, and honestly as the face of the company in a lot of ways, it explains the other issue:

The game is buggy, poorly made, and worse balanced. Most weapons are garbage, and any time the community finds a workable solution to make playing the game less of an un-fun slog, the developers just nerf the things that work and then the CMs just tell you "well I don't count those as nerfs so shut up". The claim the game has friendly monetization only applies if you play obsessively - otherwise, you aren't getting enough currency to buy the monthly battlepasses for free, and instead you're left looking at a battle pass feeling pressured to buy it and use the new toys before they're also inevitably nerfed in to being useless because the community liked them. Don't let a $40 price tag fool you - the game already has another $40 worth of DLC, and it will only grow more and more - if you didn't buy at launch, this will inevitably be a $200 game a year later.

So frankly, if you didn't buy it already, don't buy it now. You missed when it was at its best and it will only age poorly with the way things are currently.

Lots of controversy here as of the time of writing, but one guys take after a few days -
I'm really liking the game so far. Combat is fun and varies a lot by vocation. The world is beautiful and there's tons to explore hidden in every corner. I find a lot of the experience of exploring similar to Elden Ring, but with systems I prefer better. Overall it's a game I play as much as I can, and look forward to getting back to when I'm not right now.

On the bad side - yes, the DLC is very dumb and the fact we didn't know it was coming was lame. Most of it is components of the Deluxe editions bonuses in pieces, and it's almost all easily obtained in game with no extra money spent. Just skip the DLC. Performance for me has been pretty good most of the time - usually between 50-60 fps, and the worst drops have been in town with it dropping to mid 20s at times, with one particular view near a bridge doing it consistently. For specifics on settings/ hardware - mostly set to medium level visual settings, VRAM tuned to around 6.23gb used. Resolution is 3440x1440 (Ultrawide 1440p) with DLSS turned on. Hardware is:
CPU - Ryzen 5800X
Memory - 32GB DDR4 3600
Storage - Samsung 990 EVO 2TB nvme
GPU - Zotec nVidia 3060ti 8GB
Not low end, but very much not an overpowered monster of a rig either.

Overall, it's good so far and I'm looking forward to playing more. Hopefully patches improve performance, and the game does well in the long run.

So good, and so reasonably priced I've bought copies for other people because they needed to enjoy it too.
