Not worth the money.

The gameplay loop is... interesting up to a point. After that it's just "keep moving to dodge everything" without much more thought (For example in risk of rain 2 you need to occasionally hide behind stuff or prioritize some enemies to keep going).

Boss concepts are interesting, especially the flying bug thing. But they are very easy to figure out and it's the same "keep moving" thing

Maps are too large and a massive headache to navigate. Out of the characters only the starter and the floating warden have decent enough mobility and skills. The others are just kinda eh.

The music is too generic. It doesn't have character. It's fine for a starter game but still something worth looking at

The game is kinda laggy on mid hardware. I guess It's due to the massive environment size. Still playable on low settings so I won't press on this issue, just a reminder that risk of rain 2 can run >144fps on the same hardware.

I wouldn't recommend it because it feels like an alpha-stage game being pushed as a finished product. NOT worth the money at all :/

I think the game is cool, some modes are occasionally frustrating but that's just the nature of the game. But I don't recommend it for its price and here's why:

- Too few players for matchmaking: The game has around 600-800 active players. Most of them are not from the same region so matchmaking inevitably cross-matches players. This leads to bugs and renders the voice chat obsolete

- Game breaking boundary mechanics: Some mechanics completely break a match or provide a second chance to players who should've lost. I'll list some below:
- In liar's deck if someone calls liar just before their timer runs out, they will call liar to the cards that they threw. This allows them to throw a lie and call their own lie to make the next player take a shot. Though not commonly used, it is an issue that exists.
- In Liar's poker if someone leaves just after showdown but before the gun loading starts, other players who had inferior hands will never initiate the gun loading and get another chance. Supposedly this was fixed in the most recent hotfix but it still occurs. Maybe the devs didn't patch some alt+f4 cases. I don't know...
- In Liar's poker, someone can just switch a card and go all in. Most of the time they make a one-pair with whichever card is in the flop and already get a >85% chance of winning. Either the switching mechanic should be removed or all the players should get an opporunity to switch before deicing whether to go all in or fold. 25% chance is too high to fold every single time.
- In Liar's poker there is a rare but possible boundary case where if someone disconnects just before showdown happens, the new hands get distributed but the remaining players throw their NEW hands in the middle for all players to see. Effectively giving a free round to those who folded.

I think the game should go on a big sale to encourage an increase in player base.

And instead of adding goon gamemodes, maybe make an airtight system first. Also speed up some animations, the game feels very chunky.

And lastly, optimize the game. Getting 45-50fps with a gtx1650ti in a unity game with very small environments is just not a good look.

Edited on 12 Jan 2026:

- Game had a demo so incredibly based that it made me purchase on day 1
- The base game was already good enough, they could have waited several years before releasing updates (like that one game that starts with U and ends with L), instead they just released location updates months apart.
- Autumn event (Parasite) was a huge W
- Christmas event (Chimney) was a huge W
- Events still accessible in game. No workarounds needed.

The only complaints I have are the randomness of the gravity gauntlet's timing (sometimes it goes off too soon) and maybe occasional unfairness of the game if you get unlucky with rng. Otherwise this is a top 10 for me.

I don't know what else to tell you. This is one of the most price to performance things you can buy.
