Still a great gameplay, love the new engine, from source to unreal. it makes a big difference. as always the immersion is insane. visual effects, gun sounds and ambient are pretty loud and scary. Really love both games. Devs are passionate. We can tell. Thanks.

A Strategy game and a First Person Shooter Game made in Québec.
It tells a story about a french canadian lumberjack who lives in the Old Canada (Québec).
He tries to protect his house in the woods from werewolves and others demons.
If they get to the house they will kill his bro and his sick sister.
During the day, he builds traps and set up his strategy for the night.
During the night, he hunts the werewolves with his axe and his rifle.

This game is a unique gameplay in my opinion.
It has some ugly graphics and animation, and some stop-motion video with dialogs.
But, it doesn't matter cause the dev team doesn't have a budget like EA or Blizzard.
They make such a good gameplay that you can forget this lack of visual effects.

I've got it from Humble Bundle for a dollars with some more games that I don't give a damn about, but I know it goes often on sale for less that $2 on Steam, even if it is $5, it's worth it.

I enjoyed that game for the gameplay but also for the story.
If you are not from Canada, a French Canadian, or have any interest to know more about the Old Canada, you might find that game kind of boring cause it has some slow pace storyboard animation" with a bit of our history.

This is the game that will stop me from playing Counter-Strike, I didn't expect to have so much with it. I've played so many different FPS and for a long time, like Battefield (since 1942), COD, I've played every CS, my playtime is ~1000 hours on CSGO and I think I won't play anymore cause of this game, cause of how addictive this game is. I think Insurgency is now my favorite FPS, but I do wish to see a bigger player base in the near future for this fantastic realistic fps. You won't see any usable airplanes, tanks, or jeep, just you and your feet.

Insurgency offers severals mods for every map to play, and you can customize every weapon at anytime while in spawn. The gameplay offers a realistic battlefield experience just by giving "nothing", I mean it has no spotting at all on the HUD, you have no clue (no radar, no crosshair) where your ennemies are and who is shooting at you until a teammate tells you or you see him, and that's absolutely great. You actually don't know if you've killed someone, until you see the blood on the wall or see his dead body where he was standing. You just see where the objectives are, like Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, ... You need to cooperate with your teammates to win, voicetalk can be a real asset, having a squad leader too.

Insurgency was a few years ago just a mod for Half-Life 2, I've played it and I didn't enjoyed it, the gun mechanic was not at his best, now the gameplay is INSANE. This is the one shot, one kill game, in a realistic battlefield, you have been waiting for.

The graphics are not the best, but guess what? The game looks better than CSGO and they use both the source engine. You won't ever find a game with such a great sound effects. Guns feel real, they sound real, they will scare the hell out of you. Getting a kill is so rewarding, even more when you are the HVT (High Value Target) and you kill half of the opposite team by yourself before you escape and win the round (hey hey). However, getting kills is not your only priority, you need to do the objectives to revive your teammates (called waves) or you will be alone. You need to watch your corners, stop rushing cause sometimes defending a point you hold it's the best thing to do.

Finally I want to say someting about the smoke grenades, how they look awesome and how really effective in this game they are, so cloudy, dark and huge [insert a bad taste joke here], those grenades are a real asset in the battlefield if you want to take control of a point (A-B-C). I also like what developpers did to bullets that hit the ground, it makes the dirt/dust goes everywhere around you, it's something that helps you to notify that an ennemy is firing at you, so you can take cover or just disappear right away. You can even see where the bullets are coming from if you pay attention to it.

tl;dr : I recommend it.
