I have been playing video games since Atari and this is the first time I have really considered throwing my monitor out of the window. People say that this is a game about exploration and story. They are lying to you. This game is about experiencing what its like to be a battered wife. I don't know who hurt the devs but they need help and someone please go check on them.

Whats gameplay like? Its like being in a sandcastle making contest but you must wear oven mitts with lube on them, oh and somebody kicks over the sandcastle every 20 minutes.

I can hear you nits right now - "Get gud bruh". Stop it, you are ruining that phrase. This game isn't about skill, its about figuring out some trick to progress. It's why everyone screams to not spoil it, because spoilers ---are the game---. Nobody screams about spoiling the Malenia fight in Elden Ring, because guess what she doesn't care. She is going to smack your face in until you get good. Thats what that phrase should be used for.


But Watson, being good at flying with Newtonian Physics is a skill, its something you need to get good at. Well miss me with that then. Do you know why the overwhelming vast majority of space games don't use Newtonian physics for flight? Because it sucks. Realism is suppose to add to games, not take away from it. Nobody wants to tip the dealer in Balatro.

You might say - Watson you handsome bastard - I'm sure the story makes up for it. No. It doesn't. It's fine, I guess. There's nothing bad about it, but it doesn't hold enough water to carry this game. Games can get away with bad gameplay if the story is good, and vice versa - it does neither. The first 5 minutes of Atomic Heart (ATOMIC HEART OF ALL THINGS) has more interesting world building and lore than the entire game.

Do yourself a favor and go play anything else. If you want exploration, go play Potioncraft. At least the physics are nice.
