Okay-ish demo of a game that copies a lot out of other auto-survival shooters like
+ Brotatos (best! + Coop!)
+ Deep Rock Survival (2nd best game, was primary "target of inspiration" for this game)
+ Vampire Survivor (is kinda boring)

Unique is the setup of the hexagon abilitys. guns and effects react with the tiles around them. So in theory there could be some interesting tinkering possible. Yet, the demo didn't really feel that deep in the development.

- The "coins" you need to pick up are hard to see.
- The character animations are low quality (2D layer gets "turned" if enemies change direction)
- menue music had to be turned off
- Unlock grind to prolong gaming experiments. Modern "Rogue-Like" approach, thats not much fun.
- Very uncool: Add title to steam wishlist, so you can get the next Character. Cheap sales method.

This game looks like a quick release to get some money. Or had an impatient publisher. It's not enough to be considered good. Could be in a way good, but signs are there. So wouldn't bet on it.

Let's wait and see how people will rate it in the end. For me right now it has no recommendation. But will follow it and change my opinion.

I support Indy Devs but not money grabs. The question is: Which one is it? :-/

This game destroys any form of trust in other humans.
I don't mean that in a funny way.

Since there is no downside of taking human life in the game. Sociopaths and Psychopath (people with antisocial personality traits) get the most reward out of the game. They will get the best loot, get the best weapons and will be able to prey on the new members of the game all day long. From the perspective of gametheory, it will lead to a collabs of the gaming community. Way faster than in any other game. You lose your progress, your loot etc., because other players, who just spoke to you and asked for help, shoot you in the back, first chance they get.

Young people will learn that there is no normal behaviour. Human kind needs to cooperate to survive. If we teach young minds that you get shot in the back everytime you trust somebody, it will lead to a generation of hate, egoism, mistrust, inability to form human relations etc.

Is it better to go in with friends? - No, then you will get matched with teams that will hunt you down. Being alone is the highest chance to get out alive. -> we learn: Be alone. If you get others in your team with autofill -> they will attack you too.

Youtuber who teach kids how to backstab people, how "funny" it is, will teach this psychotic behaviour way outside the borders of this game. The first map every new player can play is full of stalkers.

Even the intro of the game teaches new players that humans don't support other humans against the common enemy "ARC". ARC is just background noise.

You will lose your trust in humanity in this game, as it is right now.
Imagine you go out on the street and you get gunned down for no reason, just because someone wants to see if you have anything to take on you. In real life we have police and laws. In this game it's a dystopian nightmare.

Yes, it can be fun finding decent human beings that cooperate together. Finding stuff is fun too. Being able to build more and more. Nice. Great optics. Cool movement of drones and walkers.

I don't say that every shooter teaches this behavior. But this game does ruin brains.
If I play PvP - It's fair game. But PvPvE is a backstabbing nightmare.

Why should I fight a hard ARC enemy, when I got hunt down afterwards by psychopath?
Why should I find and collect stuff, when I get gunned down at the exit by a lowlife?

CHANGE THIS:
People who kill you need to get a penalty for it.
They need to be marked as enemy, for at least 10 games.
And everybody who takes their life should get a reward.

This will change the society of the game. And will stop this mental r @ p e and murder onslaught.

I play PvP and PvE and PvPvE for decades. No game had ever this problem.

This game will change human behavior for the worst.
I am dead serious about it.

If you want a thumbs up, change that ♥♥♥♥.
You could've had a great game. But you couldn't make it interesting enough VS the bots so you build an academy of human distrust and hatred. Congrats. Ask the 20 people playerbase of the multiplayer mode of "Red Dead Redemption 2" how smart that is.

For everybody who wants a game where you can be victim of sadist, psychopath etc.
Go for it. Enjoy therapy.

Early Access Review
Well, it's not DRG. It's an autoshooter that is DRG-themed.

After 52h:
All achievements done.
16 of 144 global upgrades left.

positive:
+ needs only 1 hand to play. So it's something you can do while something else alone is too boring.
+ looks nice
+ you can grind something, thus feel to accomplish something, while ignoring your own life stands still
+ lots of stuff to unluck, which you need to make the game playable. basicly unlocking stuff is then main goal of the game so far.

negative:
- Can't aim to shoot. Which is pretty annoying. Would prefer it to be an actionRPG
- No Coop
- it's a freaking grind.
- you don't get better. You just get better upgrades that let you upgrade all stats that are way too low from the beginning.
- you are always running away from enemies even if you could kill em. Because killing enemies progress incoming waves and thus the boss. If boss dies pod comes down and ends your run. So if you wanna loot all the shiney stuff that let you progress in any way you need to avoid killing bugs. Only after Boss spawns you can go hunt the little ones down since you need the XP before killing the boss.
- not much freedom to decide how to play it. Only able to focus upgrades towards certain stuff, but the bug run problem remains.
- scout got no hook. Super weak before you get the crit-items
- difficulty is too hard. Can only play through H3 so far and I don't have much global upgrades left

For playing something with one hand while doing something else like watching a series, it's okay.
It's a fun little game. But nothing that will change gaming forever etc. Seems like a mobile phone idea.

UPDATE (30.09.24):
New Update-System with Cores need 106h to complete.
+ More challenges / Mission types

629hrs on record. So must be a bad, right? xD
"One of the last good videogames out there" -> true to that!

+ Most Coop fun with friends!
+ Humor!
+ 98% non-toxic
+ Many map-types to keep it fresh
+ many event types to keep it fresh
+ maps get generated -> never the same map twice (unless it's a "deep dive" until the next "deep dive" is available)
MEANING: You have to look for stuff, find your path and strategy pretty much every map. -> FUN!!!²
+ plenty of different enemy-types
+ great community! Help each other -> more XP. <3
+ perk system -> strategy
+ I'm buying skin-packs I don't use to support the DEVs
+ seasonal and holyday specials
+ works on lower setups. Doesn't require lot's of gold to play.
+ proves HD-graphics are not needed for AAA fun!
+ unique look
+ weakpoint system
+ funny lobby/ship bar with magical beers that let you do fun stuff

Since I bought the game it got (without any dlc cost!):
+ 12 more enemy-types
+ 2 Mini-Bosses
+ 2 "Boss-Fight" eventmaps
+ 3 more ingame map events that can happen
+ 3 more map bioms
+ 6+ more map types (mission types)
+ 8 more weapons
+ over 20 new mods for weapons
+ 3 fun Mini-games on Lobby/Ship

+ DLCs are just to support the DEVS. Why do I buy all?
-> DRG has on of the BEST price/fun & price/content ration on steam

+ plenty of MODs for more fun! :D
+ you will return over and over

Let's try to find stuff on the negative side...
- "barrel hoop" achievement. It's just there to make you hate it. xD
- some achievements are really hard to get.
- for some achievements you need 4 good players that want them too.
- Only 24 weapons (but you can mod them)
- you have to "mine" a while to get the weapons and upgrates (but not too hard)
- after 300h you kind of miss a progress... more weapons etc.
- after 400h you would love to play story missions, like in single player / Coop games to dig through maps to attack
orcish bases from different sides. etc. OR build up bases to defend against enemies in an "endless mode" or so...

To sum it up:
Worth your time and money. Still growing game, yet AAA status!!!
(it's not an early access scam xD)

First of all: OMD! is one of the best game series out there. If you like Coop + Towerdefense + Hack&Slay you will love it.
It could be 1 of those "20 out of 10" over the top games...
Sadly the lack of love from the DEVs makes it just a 7/10 games.

Yet, still one of the best Coop-games on steam.

Yes it is worth it, but.. there are buts. Why not just fix stuff and improve it?
Lack of love. Profit oriented. :-/

+++++ Amazing Coop game
+++++ better with friends
++++ Good Singleplayer game
++++ The longer you play the better it gets. (Intro story is not really good. No Max, instead to cocky kids)
+++ Music
+++ Level Design (without DLC)
+++ Damage system: Combining different types/elementals multiplies damage, score and money from kills.
++ Fun and creative ways to build trap mazes for the incoming hordes
++ Lots of traps and weapons to choose from
+ New look (even so I prefer the old ones.)
+ More of Cyclope Race
+ Fire Fiends (even so I don't like them and they are way too often on the field)
+ Tuatara Race
+ Update in 2023, even so not all bugs are solved, someone at least did something
+ Weekly Challenges
+ Max is finally playable after finishing the main story
+ you can deactivate the story-mode talk that you normally get when entering a level. So you don't have to hear it over and over.^^

- DLC missions are designed to be extra hard instead of fun. Not many builds can solve them. Not enough time for most solutions.
- There are still bugs that will annoy you like crazy. Sometimes Orcs get behind barricades because of weird physics or just be knocked over barricades by running Ogres. Now and then also seem to teleport.
- In Scramble Mode buffs like "reduced trap type costs" only works properly for the host. 2 years later... still waiting.
- Story got rid of own hero. But wait there is a DLC... sigh.
- ingame communication ain't really good. Just use discord with your friends instead.

Compared to the 2nd game:
+++ Coop Players now both have the normal 10 slots! (instead of 7)
++ Less Sappers heavy
+ more weapons, but not all equally useful
++ New game mode Scramble can be fun (in Coop)
++ Warmaps are fun, but could be bigger and more fun
+ 6 Champs to chose from (sadly they have different stats and double jumps, would be better to pick skills for every character.)
++ boom barrel dispenser -> usefull now
+++ bouncing razor blades
+ lasers
-- lasers got debuffed a lot
- too many weapons got debuffed. We wanna have fun. wtf. It's not PVP.
- you need to finish the game once to get the "crossbow"
- lightning ring got split in two items. kinda useless to pick it up.
- stun of crossbow doesn't always work properly. Stonestaff is needed to do that.
- Max is not part of the story. New unfunny characters are forced upon us. (Max has 5 DLC missions)
- headshots no longer give back MANA. (In scramble mode you can get it if you are lucky as a perk for your scramble run)
- Endless mode can't be played for hours. At some point Orcs just ignore effects and run through. Even stuns get reduced more and more. You are no longer allowed to have fun for 70+ waves. Above Wave 25 rules get broken.
- No more Mushrooms
- Weird physics of Spikewall make it hard to use (no longer just 90° knockback)
- Swinging Mace, Decoy, Archers are a waste of money now.
- Auto Balista got reduced too
+ Your death doesn't decrease core points
- You will die a lot more.
- Enemy archers can shoot through endless hordes in front of them. Meaning, you will not see those snipers. They can hit you, but your attacks get blocked by the hitboxes of the enemies in between. -> not a fair fight.
- everything is way more expensive
- you will be hunted way harder.
Sniper: Tuatare-Ranger, Cyclops-Mage, Orc-Archer, Dynamite-Archer
Ignoring pathways: Gnoll-Hunter, Gnoll-Grenadier, Tuatara Assassin
+ hunters can now enter the core without lowering the corepoints (same like Mr Moneybags).
- More enemies will kill your barricades: Kobold-Sapper, Fireling, Fire Elementals, FireLord, Ghorbash
- Some enemies are immun to fire damage, thus for way too many traps.
- Flyers will only appear in a few levels.
- Never enough slots to use everthing
- Never enough gold to go nuts and just build a maze of pure madness
- Old maps of Orcs must die 1 or 2 are not available in the 3rd.
- frozen or stoned Ogres or Trolls will turn their head away from you. how? They rotate in place.
- Guardians are exiled to war maps only
- no more: Hobgoblin Shaman, Hobgoblin Healer, Water Lord, Water Elemental, Waterling, Yeti, Ball and Chain, Goblin Sapper, Swamp Troll, Fire Ogre, Frost Ogre
- Cyclone Race -> Game breaking Totems. They will deactivate stuff until you destroy them. Way harder then Goblin Sappers
- Weekly challenges are just repeating a small set of madness. Not really adding that much stuff
- still you can't share money, so you have to think hard to split up the traps, so that every member has the same costs.

Fun little game. (not for kids xD)

+ creepy atmosphere
+ fun Coop with a friend
+ both sides have something to do (not just "onesided" like other games of the genre)
+ useful for communication/team building training
+ nice visuals/sound/sounddesign

- needs a partner (both need to own the game)
- 1-3h fun, full price should be 3 bucks
- felt a little short, which is sad since the concept is promising + fun.

Promising new ground for the series.
If it wasn't so bloody/creepy you could use it to train communication skills of kids.
But it's way to much horror. Wouldn't recomment: PEGI 16 / USK 16.

So far great fun. :D Totally worth on sale.
7h to get LVL25. Sniper to max LVL10 in around 5h.

+ Queue takes 30sec. So no idea why people complain. It's even crossplattform (Playstation, Steam, Epic)
+ gotta love the ridiculous blood fountains when shooting bots. Headshot can result in head gone xD
+ Lots of weapons
+ great atmosphere and sounddesign (nightmaps!)
+ Different Classes with special bonus stats (humans & predators)
+ Fun to play as humans
+ Fun to play as predator (takes a while to master/unlock)
+ Weapons are modifiable (usage -> LVL up -> unlock stuff)
+ Most Skins and Items are unlockable with playing games or using ingame money that you earn playing.
+ voice chat
+ nice audio-files that reveal a little more about the story of some characters

- unlocking stuff creates an imbalance. High level Predator VS low level Marine... guess what will happen? -oh, look it rains plasma o_O But in a way it keeps you afraid of every encounter.
- new predator DLC seems a little bit pay-2-win, since there is no limit to it's energy
- you have to buy for Dutch/Arnold (DLC)
- haven't found a text chat yet
- bots are kinda dumb. But they are in a way just distraction from the 5th player with a freaking plasmagun
- still some visual bugs happening in lobby (5 marines with no visible predator. Size of playerboxes doesn't fit)

To sum it up: Development feels rushed, but yet it still is a fun game. Hopefully it keeps growing (maps, characters, weapons etc.) and the Devs are giving it the love it needs to become one of the best games on steam.

REQUEST: How about ALIENS as bots too. Alien-Map -> Marines have to fight them while escaping the predator.

If you like wasting your lifetime with something that will give you an everlasting empty feeling inside you, without any positive emotions at all -> this is your game! If you excuse me I have to find ledge to bury the kingslayer for my empire will last forever... at least till thy carpal tunnel syndrome will come. "Dracarys"

DON'T BUY BEFORE IT IS FIXED:
Would be the best StarWars Game EA ever made. BUT...

You start the game and once again you have to read: "Can't connect to EA servers".
While you could reconnect earlier by clicking 12 times on the "reconnect" botton - now it seems totally busted.

EA somehow still needs to defend their title as "worst company on earth" I guess?
I have one of the best internet connections you can have. So it's EA. And am not the only one with this problem.

- EA also killed the game before it was really done. Means plenty of planed content got canceled.
I mean.. it's EA. Get money, kill franchise.
- takes a while to unlock all weapons (with Kills) and SkillCards (with XP) to stand a chance against other online players.

===========
Pros:
+ Feels like StarWars (just avoid "Age of Resistance", since it's BS xD )
+ Original music (not like that unepic music in FallenOrder)
+ No more micro transactions
+ plenty of different weapons and characters
+ many game modes
+ nice (but short) single player campaign
+ great graphics
+ play the clone wars! :D

What is wrong with this game? oO
Played a mission against bots. There was a mortar that kept firing on me constantly. No matter where I was, the bots knew my position and kept firing even inside buildings. I heard about people cheating all over the place.. but that even the bots are broken is just BS. Even in EASY they keep doing that. Played it for free. Ain't worth it.

btw: I have an high-end PC, but this game somehow stutters and freeze-frames in video sequences. No, am not the only one. xD

To sum it up: Nice Beta version sketch. Let me know if you ever finish the game properly and I will try it again. "Guess it could've been a nice game, but EA..." - once again. ;)
