Short but enjoyable. The graphics and main mechanic are pretty cool.

The pros: being able to name your adventurers Edwin, Alastor, and Mudflap.

The cons: This game is one of the grindiest grindy games that ever grinded. I think I'd rather work than play this again, because at least then I get paid. Needless to say I will not be back for Etrian Odyssey II and III.

Well, that was a game.

I can't recommend it. The visuals and sound are all this game does well. I get that the developers wanted to make a game where you feel isolated in an alien world, but there is literally no story OR quality gameplay to carry the game. Your melee weapon is clunky and has to recharge. The only good weapon you get in the game is in the late game, and the ammo for it is very, very limited. It seems as though combat was tacked on last minute.

Honestly, the game is perfect if you need something to kill time between classes. It's short, challenging enough to keep you addicted, but it's not so addictive that you'll skip pre-calculus class to play another round. If your name is Evan and you are studying Mechanical Engineering this review is aimed specifically at you. PLEASE GO TO PRE-CALC. I AM NOT TUTORING YOU AGAIN OVER THE LAST CHAPTER.

Yeah, so this game is pretty rad.

MindTex 2 is a great alternative to Crazybump when generating normal, ambient occlusion, specular and gloss maps for your 3D modeling projects. I've used it for countless projects and can't recommend it enough.
