It's a short game but I absolutley love it!! Being able to collect shiny bugs is such an addicting feature and displaying them in a little terrarium... (aaaa so cute) (*☌ᴗ☌)｡*ﾟ

It would have been nice to have multiple saves or profiles, I basically unintentionally did a speedrun by having an overpowerd group of bugs in my team from the start :,) would have been nice to restart but with a new strategy. aa I want more of everything that this game has ( ≧Д≦) DLC please, more seasons, more bugs, more terrariums, maybe even little hats for the little dudes!!! ok that's all

This game is not at all what I expected in a bad way. From the looks of this game you play as a cool character that has a cool melee weapon and using traps to hunt down big robots. But also that you can tame those robots and ride them around and have them as companions.
In reality there are only a selected few mounts that look like horses that you can ride around whilst taming a bot means that you make it neutral and it will just keep wandering around and possibly fight an another bot in the area. IMO it is very disappointing and boring.

It is also my opinion that the combat in this game is very tedious and boring as you are forced to be stealthy and slowly shoot away at a bots health. It is not satisfying at all and if you want to do melee you can't even dodge hits or protect yourself, instead you just end up having to jump around hoping that the bot doesn't hit you. The only reason you have a melee weapon is to sneak and use a take down attack. In other words, the only way it makes sense to play the game is by having to tip toe around and be sneaky, always. Otherwise you will get overwhelmed by enemies and die whilst not being able to fight them off by any other means then doing little damage shooting them and running away.

Whilst i have not personally had the patience to play trough far in the story, I am surprised at how bad the dialogue is. It is almost oblivion-like with the characters standing barley doing any kind body langue as if reading a script. It isn't awful, but I did expect more from a game that is so heavily story driven and praised for it. (Comparing it to dialogue rdr2)

Otherwise this games visuals are really great and this game is over-all not that bad, its's just lacking in some places imo.

Clearly this game isn't for me personally, but if you do enjoy only having one kind of combat style, in this case stealth, then this game might just be enjoyable and great for you.
Some day i might just find the patience to complete this game but for now I just find it boring and disappointing in the things it lacks.

I don't feel like this game needs a review, if you like cute little slimes combined with farming and exploring then this is 100% a game to get.

If you are still unsure, then let me explain why I think this game is amazing.
I personally am a sucker for cute games that also aren't just brainless with little to nothing to do and this game is everything i love in games and more.
-It's cute
-It's satisfying
-Exploring
-Exciting progression
-Cozy and relaxing
-You can experiment around and make your ranching more and more efficient (tycoon-ish)
-It's fun to research and find out what's best (I love games where the investment makes you want to start watching videos and wiki's)
-This game has Steven universe vibes and I loved that series and it's style

In conclusion, I am really excited for slime rancher 2 and I was unsure if i wanted to wait or play this game first and I am so glad I decided to get this game anyway.

Very chill game with calming music. It is basically a puzzle but also a world builder (or a challenge to see how big you can make the world) especially now with the sandbox mode. If you are looking for a game that adapts to your speed and something to rewind with, this is the game. I recommend it!
