Great game. Battlefield at its finest.

Game has grown immensely over the years. With robust mods you can tailor it how you wish.

The AI is so bad it's practically worthless (examples below). For just a multiplayer game, it's too expensive for $20 the cost and effort involved to make it. That said the mechanics are great and the execution is otherwise wonderful if doing strictly multiplayer. I just wish they spent a couple days to fix so much of the bad AI behavior to check for things that are obviously horrible useless plays no matter what.

Examples of terrible AI:
- AI consistently not using marches or taking easy fights against enemies. Too many passes
- AI using-1 March orders and ignoring superior +0 orders and putting raids in landlocked areas with no targets
- Martel playing a card against me to move me to the bottom of track when I am already the lowest on all the tracks

This is one of my favorite games of all time. Gameplay is generally challenging, yet fast and smooth. There are a variety of viable tactics on both the tactical battle and campaign map levels. This is best played with the Long War 2 mod, as well as many other mods, that shore up some gameplay issues, UI conveniences, and add more variety to your time. My biggest complaint would be the amount of end-game micromanagement needed to equip your squads.

A good game that becomes GREAT with the vibrant mod community.
