Been playing this game on and off since 2012 using ArenaNET's standalone version, one thing is for sure, the horizontal progression of the game is already so much worth it to be the reason for you to play.

Bonus would be the beautiful world of Tyria, the story of Destiny's Edge guild versus the Elder Dragons (and many more), and last but not the least, the extravagant mount system the MMORPG genre has ever seen.


**EDIT: Having a horizontal progression in an MMORPG means that after reaching the end game and getting the gears and build that you want, you can just come back anytime to the game, take a break for a year if you want, and you'd still be a level 80 GIGACHAD

Been loving Mount & Blade games since 2011. And also a huge fan of warring states, feudal japan, or medieval era. Now I get to play an MMO with those combined.

Update:

I'm having so much fun lately will all the updates the devs have put into the game. It shows really that if a developer truly loves their game, it will bloom. Despite the rough start the game had, you could see the devs love with the game through the recent patches and updates.

If things will go as it is right now, New World has a bright future ahead of it. And I am excited for it.

Edited review: Still can't play from South East Asia. Was able to play for a few good hours but now it would keep on saying "Lost connection to Lobby". I can only go through character screen and that's it.

Not recommended if you are from ASIA/South East Asia

it's 2023 so we're hoping for better servers and optimization right? And yes I was right for trying the game again. Enjoying it so far, no disconnections compared to years ago where I have a potato ISP and PC; and megaservers were still meh. 9/10 - 10/10 if I got my money to get all the DLCs LOL
