>Install
>Wait for shaders to compile
>Get connected to an ongoing match
>Some weird-аss map with floating platforms
>Get revealed by a wallhack grenade
>Killed by a midget with throwing daggers because it has lower TTK than your AK rifle
>As a spectator, see a high-level teammate miss all 6 shots with a revolver
>Killed by a midget too
>Team wiped, game over
>play another one
>get that cube into deposit box
>place some mines and a turret next to it
>deposit is 90% complete
>teammate places a thing which removes the floor underneath the deposit box
>all your defense devices remain upstairs, the deposit box is now one story below it
>jump down, see an enemy
>they become invisible and kill you
>another enemy tries to steal
>last surviving teammate goes for a revive instead of killing the guy who steals
>round 2
>see a giant thing pop out of nowhere and throw rocks at you
>disconnect

>It's a mission with 8 turn limit before the game forces an objective failed screen
>Rush and find the first group of enemies
>Engage them because otherwise they'll walk away
>While placing your soldiers in somewhat reasonable cover, discover an area hidden behind the fog of war and bait two more groups of enemies onto you
>Prioritize elimination of a giant flying orb 20 meters away from you
>Shoot him for a grand total of 5 damage because this specific unit has huge defense stats which don't correspond with the actual size of the thing
>Get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ because vanilla XCOM2's crit/hit chance <= 20% are the same roll and whenever enemy hits you he crits you, ESPECIALLY if you're behind the full cover, meaning that hiding behind one is a gamble and overall you're better off with no cover at all, which is the most counter-intuitive decision I've ever seen in my life

TLDR: Somehow worse game design choices comparing to the original XCOM from 1994.

Early Access Review
1. Trailer's a lie (there are no rivals).
2. Barely any different from the demo.
3. Mods ban everyone with negative opinion.

Dev made millions and I'll bet my ass that he ain't hiring a second developer to fix the AI, add more content or make the game less repetitive overall. Surely this'll be made, but not anytime soon. By far we've only had one "major" update which added a pawn shop* and... 2 signs, a shelf, 2 lamps, irrevelant cosmetics and a clock. AWESOME, INNIT?

*this mechanic is very easy to create, basically 2 function calls:
playerBalance = playerBalance + predefinedItemPrice; playerOwnedItems.Remove(soldItem); Debug.Log("We're gold baby whee-haw"); And a bunch of inherited (yandere? considering how this junk lags) code which pulls other mechanics written sometimes even before the demo released.
Considering that this game's been in development for past... 3 years, well
I guess it'll take us a while (if ever) to see something noteworthy. Everything about it just screams "scam project" and "early access forever".
