Crashes far too much on modern hardware. You can work around this by quick saving often, but the game so far hasn't impressed me enough to warrant muddling through it. Meanwhile, older games with worse graphics play just fine.

500+ hours of Counter Strike: Global Offensive, 150+ hours of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim (mostly played in first person), 80+ hours of Sniper Elite 4, 50+ hours of Left 4 Dead 2, and another 50+ hours of Doom Eternal, and yet another 50+ hours combined for all Bioshock games including the DLC's. Hundreds more combined hours of other modern FPS/playable in FPS games on Steam, and even hundreds more before Steam was ever a thing (classic Doom, Wolfenstein, classic Shadow Warrior, Half Life, Counter Strike Beta, etc). NO FREAKING ISSUES.

30 minutes into this game and I'm motion sick. Maybe it's the way the game wrests camera control from you on common actions, or how the colors blend badly into disorientation. I can forgive the clunky controls, and it's bad shooter mechanics. But when the gameplay hits harder than 10 shots of bourbon, I'd rather have the latter.

Edit: Oh, and let's not forget that not only is the game locked at 62 fps by default (have to tweak one of it's config files to allow 144 fps), there are also significant frame drops especially when enemies start shooting at you. Even on an R5 5600X with a Radeon 6800 I sometimes get single-digit frames when the bullets fly. I run Doom Eternal on Ultra Nightmare and Monster Hunter on all max settings with the high resolution textures pack- both without a hitch! I don't mind the dated graphics, but the frame drops are part of the deal-breakers here.

It has a decent story, I'll give it that. If you bought this game, finish it as fast as you can and never touch it again.

Me: "Forgive me. I mistook you for Castlevania."
Bloodstaind, RotN: "I am Castlevania. Or rather, Castlevania as it should have been."

<plays for a few hours>

Bloodstaind, RotN: "Castlevania? Yes... that was what they used to call me. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. That was my name."
Me: "Bloodstaind..."
Bloodstand, RotN: "I am Bloodstaind: Ritual of the Night. And I come back to you now - at the turn of the tide."
