In an effort to continue to cater to as large of a player base as possible we have the opposite problem that hell divers 2 has. An actual fun game with tight mechanics and a rounded out meta being bogged down by constant design decisions try and keep things"fresh" while simultaneously lowering the skill ceiling.

Had this game gone the way of counterstrike with minimal changes to the overall formula I would still be playing this today. They continually throw the favored weapons into the care package essentially removing them from the game. They keep adding more and more bloat in the name of "depth" but instead they are just adding complexity where simplicity shined. They keep throwing more and more ui on the screen to hold your hand but in the end we are left with too much information but not enough at the same time.

I returned to this game after a couple years after having played this game since launch for 14 seasons straight. And all I see one return is a mess of a game behind several new cosmetics layers. ♥♥♥♥ you EA, you used to have one playable game.

Now it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumpster fire.

It's a damn shame they never made a sequel to this game. Perfect masterpiece.

You will play for hours and then one run everything will just click into place. you can suddenly see in every direction move in all direction. Your enemies who you once feared are mere victims. You become the demon. Then that feeling, it leaves you never to return. This game is cursed. I love it

This game has the randomness of a roguelike with the action of a platformer. The HD remake makes everything better adding new enemies levels items and more.

The HD remake also included new features such as multiplayer which sadly is only local co-op splitscreen which is troublesome on a pc platform.

But if you ignore the multiplayer its still a great game which you will die in and hit the try again button over and over.
