So far, I've been really enjoying Dragon Quest XI. It has some fun and funny dialogue, and an engaging story, which was what I was expecting when I bought the game in the first place.

What I wasn't expecting, is that playing this game feels like playing games did when I was a kid, and it's practically euphoric in moments. The art is beautiful and expressive and interesting. The characters have real personality, and it really adds to the experience - there's a village where basically all the NPCs talk in haiku - incredible!

I'd read online that people disliked the soundtrack, but I strongly disagree. It is a really fun accompaniment to the game. It feels like an adventure! This is my first Dragon Quest game, though, so it may just be that I have the benefit of coming at it without any expectations.

I no longer recall a time before words for evil. All hail his holiness Pope Vocabulary IX.

This game was beautiful, sweet, and had a crisp finish. I'd equate it to a nice cider. Would definitely recommend.

The narration alone makes this game worth playing.
Controls are smooth, and while I found that some of the maps were a bit narrow, they aren't especially hard to navigate.
