When I first saw this game I immediately skipped past it because of the voxel based graphics and how many boring old minecraft lookalikes I see on steam but I was completely wrong and heres a pros and cons list of why.

---PROS---
.The AI you hire to do jobs for you, work perfectly. There are heaps of different jobs for colonists (AI) to do and in my experience each and every single works amazingly well for a game in early access.

.CONTENT. One of the largest issues with modern gaming is a lack of content but in this game as a casual player you can spend weeks getting to the end game and even when you do reach that point you still feel like you are not done because in Colony Survival you always feel like you can do something. Eg: I could set up more miners to get more resources to build more ammo so I can hire more guards so that I dont have to worry about my defenses for a while while I work on numerous other things.

.This game lets your creative juices flow. There are so many different variations in how you build your colony from the ground up and how you decide to organise everything. Do you want to build a sprawling city on flat ground. Then do it. Do you want to build a huge tree house colony, or have an underground city, do you want to have specific buildings for each job or do you want to build a single skyscraper that houses your entire colony. All of this and more is possible.

.Potential. Colony Survival shows amazing potential. When it first released in June 2017 the game kept you happily occupied for a couple weeks with its simple mechanics and a handful of colonist jobs but it is still growing and since its release heaps of new features and items have come along just to prove the games potential. I am excited to try the ideas that the Colony Survival devs have mentiond is on their roadmap.

.The game is very easy to learn. While there is so much to do and think about in this game it is still very simple to get your head around and can still be relaxing.

---Cons---
.At the time I am writing this review, there is extremely little multiplayer interaction. Other than seeing other players character models and colonies there is nothing. I played coop with a friend and we had both our colonies next to eachother which was fun at first but you cant do anything else together rather than place your guards together and help eachother out against enemies. It would be great to see joint colonies where 2 or more players can effect the same colony. Kind of like ARK's tribe feature.

.The procedurally generated world is fairly basic. you will most commonly spawn near grasslands, forest and ocean but there are numerous other biomes out there. I only discovered these other biomes by flying around the map after I was finished with my first colony. Even with the addition of these biomes the world is still just ok. Nothing amazing but nothing horrible about it.

Overall I thoroughly enjoy Colony Survival and I would highly recommend it to anyone if theyre willing to give the voxel graphics a chance.
