I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this yet.

It's great, I love Monster Hunter.

There are a lot of elements I think have maybe been too simplified, but to make up for the players new amount of agency they've added equivalent challenge or threat to balance it out.

You can certainly play through Wilds faster than its predecessors which isn't necessarily good or bad. Bad I guess if you want a life game. Capcom seems to honestly be still trying to find its footing with this new formula for monster hunter. That is alright with me as it is one of my favorite series.

Talking not from the lens of my monster hunter love, this is a great entry point to monster hunter. Really, all 3 of the modern monster hunters are, whether you choose World, Rise, or Wilds.

Play em, they're the best.

I may come back to this but my gut instinct tells me I'm spending my time fast forwarding the game to complete chores. It's very much the sims with worse graphics but I'm surviving as a colony as opposed to like a family in a home. Really, I'm also not a big fan of the Sims either. I think it's obvious if you look at the reviews that people love this. I am only acting as a voice of someone who realized they don't like this.

There are a lot of tasks and systems but it's not specifically active like an RTS, you're staying busy at fast forwarded speeds because otherwise the game is way too slow and boring.

I really like this whole series. Soulslike with more character action elements and a good smattering of loot to make builds with. I don't really need to go in depth with it because it's not the greatest game of all time but if you want Dark Souls/Elden Ring with Diablo styled loot this is it.

A circle game with impeccable visuals and a little more involvement with a dodge and manual aiming if you want. It's cheap, it's fine, you could certainly do worse.

Don't play this.

For me unfortunately, I was cursed. Compelled by Oblivion to continue forward. My mind was was entranced by equal parts nostalgia and the desire to prove I could maintain my attention span to something. On both fronts I was right, but also on both fronts I was in pain.

Oblivion at least released me quickly from my curse as the game is short, hollow, and misguided. A product of its time hoping to pad playtime by splitting decent variety of guns between 2 different playthroughs as Dani or Joshua. Oblivion clearly couldn't make up his mind and wanted to ensure to experience it all I would need to meet him twice from two playthroughs. I won't be doing that Oblivion. One playthrough was enough for me to only crave Oblivion itself. Not the entity and final boss but the state of being.

His generals exist in a few places throughout the adventure functioning as boss fights. Each of these cretins are less involved than the previous which is an amazing marvel. He put his dumbest generals closest to him before you actually fight him which is another anti-climatic and terrible fight. When you finally get the rocket launcher you'll be primarily using it as the other guns are pretty ♥♥♥♥ besides the mini gun but it runs out of ammo non stop. His worlds leading up to each general are small, loaded with transition scenes that double as checkpoints, and are mostly uninteresting. There is some charm among the polygons though and that little bit of joy helped fuel me to finish the very short adventure.

I think Nightdive made have been afflicted with the curse too. Something forcing them to remaster this. I can understand, it's call is powerful.

A well written interesting little turn based rpg.

If you're looking for lively characters, a unique setting, and decently weighted turn based combat this is a solid choice. It's also a solid maturely written title all things considered as the narrative is center stage for this game.

There is a lot of charm in the art style and the game really gets its ideas across without any time wasting. I finished in about 4 hours and explored as much as I could.

This game would be 10,000x better in coop. I played through it solo but its really a nice little adventure and task completing game. It reminds me of playing a PS1 or PS2 adventure game and you complete tasks in each world. You don't need to do them all but if you really want its all there.

It's not very expensive, it's not groundbreaking but it is satisfying and fun to play. The multiplayer mode outside of story coop is spider prophunt and it's a neat little extra but not the main purpose of the game by any means.

Varied weapons with okay upgrades and a combat based finale goes a long way to make this game easy to recommend.

Per usual, Nightdive has done a good job here.

On the flipside I have no nostalgia for this game and got it in a bundle.

I see this game brought up for boomer shooters every now and then and people seem to generally like it. I feel like that is notalgia based because what I played felt like a goofy amalgamation of different ideas and really bizarre maps to run through.

Shooting enemies and movement also felt really dull. I'm glad Nightdive does what it does for the people that crave it, but this one wasn't for me.

Entertaining branching narratives. Voice acting makes the whole experience much better. It is hard to say anything about the game without spoiling so I won't. The game tells you a great story while respecting your time.

This is a strategy puzzle type game with a neat setting. The issue here is it is dated so you'll be fighting with the controls and AI interactions. I think ultimately it is a good experience but not one I really care for playing right now. As cheap as this game gets you can easily give it a go and see how you like it.
