Swapmeat is a refreshing change of pace from your average shooter. It combines elements from Borderlands, Doom and has the feel a Rat Fink fever dream. I played at least 25 hours on the demo and it was enough to buy it outright, the full version has a lot of surprises and continues to throw new and exciting baddies at me. It does a great job with its writing, music and level design. I am sick and tired of all these AAA titles that just add a digit to their name and ask for another $70 this game is priced right and has a lot of fun to enjoy for the money. I've been gaming since the 90's and have had so much fun, like a real throwback to when games were good experimental, and artistic and not just selling you the same game over and over.

Classic shooter like Counterstrike with a more serious flair. The players are a bit toxic, mostly older white dudes who either served or are pretending they did.

Played through this game with my Daughter (age 6) its pretty good, maybe she's a little young for some of the humor. its a little dark and rougher than my own marriage. actual stopping point for us was when we had to hurt the toy elephant. the scene felt a little too dark for her, had to finish the section by myself, (maybe a skip this option would be better) outside of the story, the game itself was well done, the scaling of the characters felt right, the attention to detail on graphics was well done, (since this was a kids imagination some of the Realism was questionable like circuit boards cut through circuits, but nothing that was truly pulled the player from the game. Overall a good game and worth playing all the way through.

Around 80 hours is a good time to evaluate a game. This game has some of the best hit boxes developed with combat in mind, the community is a bit over the top on the historical and "accuracy" of the game. its a grind like any Free to play game, spending a lot of missions just barely making a dent to your overall money. Tank battles start off fun but quickly turn into an arms race to get the most powerful or fastest units. some units just look silly with huge turrets and you quickly find out you can't take many of them on head to head. Air battles also have the same feel with a few choice vehicles that take 4-5 planes to stop. like the J-21 one of my biggest gripes about this game is that its very hard to transition from tank to air, your units have to be retrained and swapped over. It would be different if it drilled down to a individual soldier name, but its left with "crew" which really doesn't mean anything. its a little too complicated in this respect. another annoying factor is they just updated the graphical engine and this caused the game to drop in FPS to the point its hard to play. You'll likely need more than a GTX970 to be competitive. I find myself keep leaving this game and wanting something else, but end up back here again every weekend.
