Awesome coop shooter with great attention to detail. The weapons have great feel thanks to their handling and their effects on your enemies. There are many ways to dispatch said enemies (flames, gas, explosives, airstrikes, melee, sheer volume of rounds, and so much more) and some stealth gameplay is possible too. Enemy and terrain variety is plentiful. Progression can be lengthy but the implementation is interesting.

Premium currency can be obtained during normal gameplay so you can technically unlock everything, although it could take some time. No use of FOMO as all content is accessible, you just have to choose in what order to go about it.

Mixes the hero arena type of characters with tactical gameplay and fast TTKs (a single bullet to the head is an instakill).

It's definitely not for everyone, but its peculiar mix can be very hard to let go of. Just mind the very high learning curve; patience is a plus. Just stick to some of the beginner-recommended characters and learn their guns, their skills and the elements of the game that are common to all. If you spread out too much you won't go deep enough in the knowledge required to survive. Don't expect to thrive straight out of the gates.

Hit the ranked playlist as soon as you can, I had a lot more fun and success than when I was in the toxic 'casual' playlist. I wish I had tried sooner!

One of the few free-to-play games that isn't pay-to-win.

If you enjoy combined arms gameplay but Battlefield just doesn't have enough of it for you, then definitely give Planetside 2 a go (you've got nothing to lose afterall).

Be warned, playing in an outfit is strongly recommended to fully enjoy the experience this game offers. You'll find plenty of people to do so though, helping you get to grips with the complexities of the game's systems along the way. There is a great new player experience in this regard though.

This game has come a long way, I just wish (and I know I'll be getting a lot of flak for this...) we had our biffers back in some form. The vets will know what I'm on about.
