Great feel to the game at this stage; gameplay, customization options, story, all were excellent.

Obviously (as a demo I mean) needs polish regarding inventory management and balance; annoying to compare items, can't dismiss guys (presumably at this stage), the shield and greatweapon skill trees need something special (they're obviously super strong but not interesting/weird like the blue and yellow trees), money seemed too easy to get, and as soon as I got 8 guys I just steamrolled everything (is there an enemy that takes advantage of many foes?).

The maps with just 1 fight (which is most of them) were uninteresting after a while, and the maps should have a different or additional objectives sometimes: hold location, time limit, find a treasure, etc., instead of 2 groups just leroy'ing each other every time. I would also want more environmental/terrain features that affect gameplay, like the traps but more stuff to use/avoid (mud, cover, uneven ground, bushes, trees, etc.).

The not sure if the enemies are all that different (lack of experience in the demo on my end), but I mostly fought bandits and 'normal' humans, but they worked just like fighting demon dogs or whatever. Maybe make speed a factor; less time to prepare for example? The game already tries to make armor vs health a gameplay feature, but enemies have too much health for this to work currently (and armor too low). Also inventory management is too annoying to setup maces vs swords.

The recruits seem to be a bit of a weak point regarding the custimization (versus the equipment and skill tree which are better); why would I not just take the ones with the best 3 stats every time? By this I mean there's just no contest, 8/8/8 is better than 5/5/5, there's no strategy or thinking that occurs here. Other games like this one can get around this by having way more stats, so a recruit might be bad at one role but great at another. In this game though, what am I going to use a low strength character for? It's also not even hard to get recruits with high strength. Are there more than 3 stats planned (not that I think this is a great idea, but adding say mental fortitude that's generally only useful vs supernatural enemies could work)? I don't think sacrificial units would work either when I'm trying to build a brotherhood of max 8 guys (maybe that's just me though).

I'm very curious to see what the final product turns out to be and will watch closely!

I'm unsure if the lack of fun is because it's a demo, or if the core gameplay is bad/unintuitive. I can't easily tell when I'm going to miss entirely, or do some damage. I completed the demo and found myself in these scenarios often:

My rockets miss sometimes but I can't tell why.
Grenades may do literally no damage all the way to wiping a squad (I can sort of tell when vs crappy pirates vs armoured ones, but the effectiveness vs crappy pirates is still very much unclear).
I position a squad to flank and/or get really close and they still miss/do no damage (here too I get that they may be suppressed the 2nd time I shoot at them, and I might be using weapons that are better at long vs short range, but it's still a crap shoot).
Similarly, the enemy on the other side of the map has no problem suppressing or killing my guys sometimes.
My guys are in cover (front and back, for example), but decide to hug the wrong wall and get ♥♥♥♥♥♥. The enemies though, seem to reposition depending on the 'active' squad I'm using.
Will an enemy squad will die horrible to my tank, or be able to blow it up, who knows!?

I get that this likely because I don't know how the game works, but if it's already this unintiutive then I don't know if I'll enjoy the full game. Maybe a slower progression or a tutorial would explain everything, or maybe having access to all game features/options would explain wtf is going on. It sort of reminds me of how I felt that the DOW2 multiplayer was also unintuitive, if that helps anyone. I loved the ♥♥♥♥ out of that games campaign.

All this being said I will likely still check out the full game, but definitely not a day 1 buy for me. Battlebrothers is punishing but intuitive, but this is just zzz.

A mix of xcom and an RTS. I had lots of fun with it, although I did find most levels 'too easy.' Some of the missions in 'legion tales' expanded on the types/gameplay of missions in a great way, and it would have been excellent if incorporated in the main game.

Gameplay is fun, and there's plenty of depth for character customization via; weapons, skills, backgrounds, etc.

Story started a bit awkwardly I thought, in a bit of a 'young adult novel' sort of way, but really grows into something excellent as it progresses.

Absolutely would recommend.

Radiant edit; still complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. DO NOT BUY.

surprisingly not very fun, way to much rng

edit; this game suffers from sever pacing issues that stem from its awful learning curve. you must grind easy fights for way too long to be able to equip a decent team to advance the plot.

Another terrible design feature is not being able to use 'experienced' heroes for beginner dungeons. This has frustrating consequence of learning a bunch of new skills (or lacking abilities you began to relly on and understand) to grind through content you just completed easily with another group.

Overall this game seems to have plenty of content, and would usually warrant several playthroughs. As is though, you will learn all the characters to death before you even begin to advance the plot, and by then the gameplay will just be monotonous.

This game reminds me of FTL, but with completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up pacing. Imagine that game but the second sector starts with the boss battle. You don't lose by having your ship blown up, you just restart the first sector sector with a random new ship that got to keep the weapons of the first ship.

Great concept that was executed so amazingly poorly it boggles my mind. It took them months to start patching this game, and it still isn't done properly. We're not talking about tweaking, I'm mean this game is still terribly broken half of the time.

Do not get this game. You will either wreck the monster because your entire team is good, or will lose terribly every time because one of your teammates is bad. There is no middle ground, no close games. Same thing applies as monster, you will either wreck a team of noobs easily, or get completely crushed every time against good players.
