TL;DR: The skeleton of New World is rock solid. The surface level simplicity of the weapons/skill/armor system has surprising amounts of depth, however a metagame is clearly established, and in both PvP and PvE, the same 4-6 weapons are wildly prevalent, whereas the others are not remotely viable. The systems in New World, particularly the gearing and Mutator aspects of the game, lack meaningful progression and feel totally unfinished. Small scale open-world PvP is essentially void in the endgame due to the rewards being non-existant as well as massive faction imbalance. Ultimately, the game is 'good' for about 100 hours of soulless grinding before you are rudely awakened by the harsh reality that this is all there is. The phrase I feel most succinctly sums up Amazon's New World is: 'The juice isn't worth the squeeze.'

Wholesome and family friendly. Never yells or anything 11/10 would play with again.
