Not recommending might be a little harsh, it's ok, just not really worth the money. I generally feel like I mostly paid for the graphics honestly. It's hard not to compare it to The Room series, they probably were inspired by it. That being said, I had read a few reviews about this game and got really excited. "Harder puzzles!" and other things like similarity to The Room, I can see the similarities but this is essentially a bad knock off imo. It looks great, concept is great, but it was poorly executed.

The hardest puzzles were because of not clicking on whatever pixel the game had decided was the right one, or camera angles being absurdly annoying to work with etc. Also, why is the "hint" button going off even as you've *just* solved a puzzle? Don't really need help at that point? It'll go off even before you've even had time to search the area sometimes. Speaking of which, it's absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane to have a puzzle right in front of you, unobstructed, that you just cannot zoom in on because you're not "there yet" when it's right in front of me. That's just ridiculous, whether we have a items or not to finish a puzzle, we should be able to inspect it if it's within reach. If you don't want us to see it, just hide it.

And the damn popups and sounds for "completing" inventory objects, really? Every damn things gets an announcement, even if it's something like folding over the top of a pyramid or something else completely useless, it gets boring within the first hour. Why does every single thing have to be interactive? I'm all about the puzzles but flipping a switch or pulling a tiny lever on an object which I can clearly see the use of, only for one visible piece to move into another spot is just tedious and not fulfilling. In other games, if you need to fiddle with a small object, usually there is a hidden compartment or the object will transform in a less obvious way, or there are multiple steps etc.

And then we have the knock off eyepieces. Like yeah, the rewind-time thing was a cool idea but so far, poorly executed. Same for the first eye piece which lets you see inner mechanisms. The Room made their eyepiece an integral part of gameplay and general atmosphere, using it in many ways, not just for solving puzzles. Which by the way, is used very sparingly in this game for some reason, probably because it's boring.

Story is kind of too vague and not very intriguing, to me anyway. I feel like this far in, the breadcrumbs should be juicier.

As far as the puzzles themselves go, it's quite underwhelming. I do like Sierra-style point-n-click games, but The Room really got me infatuated with the more mechanical puzzle-solving types, and this underdelivered for me. Easy, overly repetetive, too streamlined in a way that makes you feel like a hand-held spectator more than a puzzle solver, also why in the ♥♥♥♥ are the hints so literal? "I think I saw a switch at the bottom of ..."

All in all, looks great, good concept, clunky controls/camera, underwhelming puzzles, unsatisfying storyline, hints too literal and frequent. I got this on sale and I'm still disappointed, but I might say it's ok to buy on sale. Definitely not full price though. If you like easy mechanical type puzzles in a nice atmosphere without an interesting story and you've yet to play The Room, you might enjoy this :D
