I've played through the entire game and even collected every single item but the rampant crashes, bad-feeling controls, lack of proper lock-on (which is terrible in a 3d environment setting) and the many bugs I've encountered leave a lot to be desired. For example, just fighting bosses is a hassle and their cutscene may not play, so you'll have their title card but be unable to play and either have to restart the game or steam itself and it MIGHT work.

The game gets chaotic and can be fun if and when it works but I would not recommend the game at the current price it is, especially with how repetitive the gameplay is.

So. I fell in love with the game forever ago but never got a chance to snag it until the free day, boy am I glad someone told me about it being free. I've wanted to play a ' Jet Slalom' type game that was actually decent for a while since I've played one when I was little and this really hit the nail on the head.

First of all, the slow start of the game was nice, the way the in-game goals progress and actually reward you slowly was wonderful. Every level or so you'd unlock something else, Tris, Jumpers, Boosters, Warps, and then the Shield/Escape warp, not quite in that order though. The challenges were imposing at first, but as you got used to how things controlled or got a new kind of power things got easier, like now I can consistently hit Region 6 no problem.

Another thing I most enjoyed was the fact that just when you start to relax and get into a groove (because up until region 8, things were kind of the same here and there. Go <left for more Tris instead of right> at so+so structure, even if the map is changed daily. I hit region 9 and suddenly had structures I had never seen before appear, every few regions is like that really.

So many things in this game amaze me every time I boot it up, the little warp zones to go to other worlds (Created by players I suppose) and the extra game modes keep things refreshing and wonderful. The Sunrise DLC keeps things calming, the unlockable Apocalypse mode and Labyrinthia make the game even more challenging and new, especially the latter.

My only complaints would be that you can't change to a different kind of vehicle for aesthetic reasons and the issue that rarely the Tri's won't pick up for you.

10/10 would play again and die, then play and die again, and again.
