the mixed reception for this dlc is crazy. if the dreadnought is going to be special it has to be a limited tool used in special missions. always having access trivializes the difficulty and nerfing the dreadnought so it fits with regular marines ruins the power fantasy. this doesnt even mention the techmarine which is a legitimately cool addition that has unique abilities that separate it from the other classes.

yeah this game is pretty good

I gave up on this game a long time ago, but my friends fought on against gaijin's punitive economy changes for years before they eventually called it quits as well. War Thunder is not inherently a bad game, it can be very fun and even more so if fun gameplay was prioritized more, but the developer's need to monetize the gameplay loop so thoroughly, completely compromises the fun of war thunder that its almost hopeless to see this game as anything other than a frustrating rat race.

All MP games have good and bad, up and down moments but with the way warthunder's progression is now, the bad games you will have are crushing, and the good games will be passable. Plenty of free to play games manage sustainment without a punitive progression loop that feels like a 2nd job. Spending money in a free to play games should let the person feel like they purchased something unique and fun that is an optional extra in a great game not like a coerced necessity. This game is not LoL or Fortnite so purely cosmetic MTX that could be divorced from gameplay are not realistic (maybe Warframe is a better comparison), but it could a hell of a lot better. If a War Thunder premium costs as much as a study level simulation in DCS, that’s when you know you have a problem.

Is there a giant circlejerk surrounding it ? yes. Is it still worth playing ? most definitely.

the game is an open world world shooter set in the fallout universe and has the appropiate mechanics to match. The open ended rpg trappings of new vegas are not to be found here. Expecting this game to be a grand rpg will lead to disappointment whereas the game is played best as a quasi looter shooter thats very exploration heavy. would recommend mods to adjust the game to your liking

game is dope. I got salty af at some of the bosses. i dont even want to know the mental state of the people who went through the new game+
