The first couple weeks felt like everyone was playing garry's mod in a game vaguely about shooting robots and disassembling toasters, with fun cooperation between strangers and hilarious moments.

Now, being nice is often punished and shooting on sight is becoming more normalized as the game gains popularity with extraction shooter fans.

That being said, while I can't guarantee you'll defuse a situation with your microphone as often as before, it is still a solid extraction shooter, especially if you're looking for a low skill floor, high skill ceiling entry point to the genre.

Just don't expect strangers to leave you alone just because you're walking around playing an instrument anymore..

game has a mix of my friends griefing me and the developers griefing me.

As it is right now, it's not good. It's not a face paced shooter, so it's not good at that; it's not a slow paced tactical shooter, so it's not good at that. It's trying so hard to be between them, that it's failing to maintain either one of them and just crashes and burns. It's not fun, it doesn't do P2W correctly, it has the usual EA bullcrap like poor matchmaking, it has you caught in a web with promises of freeplay coming (which it will in at least a year or two knowing these guys) and worst of all, it promised success as the not-so-direct successor to the AMAZING S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, but it's not worthy of being catagorized in the same genre. Poor, poor work.
