Really enjoyed the game until 1.5 rewrite the story for the the sensitive national Chinese (how most likely will not buy the game). Never saw such a move. Will be the last GameDev from China i will support. never trust the CCP

Well i played the 1 Build (EA realese, made a break before the 1 Big patch "the Crucible" and came back for The Breach,
Do i Recommand it? YES but be Aware! The Game is HARD and not for everyone...

The Cons: The Performance is not great. I have *at the moment of the review" an Geforce 3070Ti, which is still an good GPU and the Game sometimes CHUCKS hard (the City for example or when the Camera thinks I need a zoom out of the Panorama). I had a few Crashes and a few "invisible Wall" bugs... but its Eearly Access and u have to brace yourself for it.
The Controlls could need a a rework too.... i died more times by falling to my dead then getting Rofl-stomped by the Enemies.
The World is divided in *at the mmoment of the review* 5 Areas + the Hub. After entering the City u getting let lose and can do what u want if u dont die 1-hit to highlevel enemies. A bit more focused at the Start would be great. And for the love of God, explain Embers! Only after 68 Hours did i learn that u can reroll your gear with Embers ...
U have to farm... Trees, Ores, Food... which gets boring pretty fast. And WHY THE HELL do i need to wait 3 REAL TIME hours for an Shop-upgrade to kick in.
That are my Cons of the Game which i hope will be fixed until 1.0

the Pros <3 :
The Art.... god this game can be so beautiful and ugly <3.
The Bodyhorror is genius and i loved every "Bodyhorror" boss i found.
There are SOOOOO many Weapons.... and not every weapon has the same movement-set. U can have different named 2 Straight Swords with different movement-sets. There are many Armors too which are sometimes SOO goooofy looking.
Combined with the MANNNNY Skills and Spells let u have so many Builds... atm i play a Backflip kicking Dude in the HEAVIEST Armor i can find, with an Slap of a Greatword which would make Guts blush.
What wacky idea for an build u have i beat u can build it.
The Combat.... its can be fast and fuid if u want or heavy and meaty... the Weapons feel good... and the Hitboxes are crisp...
I will not Lie.... the Game is hard, if your build sucks... but u can always respecc after u unlocked it in the Crucible... and its not THAT expensiv (i think its 5 embers for an hard reset on max level) which u can find in about 5 Mins of gameplay if u are lucky.
I for myself dont like the "Daily"-Quest limits but its a matter of taste... let me grind Q so long as i want not MAX 5 per day....reduce the rewards if u have too

Do i recommend "No Rest for the Wicked"? Yes but be aware that the Devs want to change many Systems of the Game... i heared they want to add a class system ...

One of the harder "Souls-like". Love the Game... the bosses broke me ....*Endboss took me almost 5 Hours thanks to 3 Phases* but damn is it a good Game. Just wished for more Weapons... the rest ist True AAA

i like the game and i want to give it an positiv review. But the Game Crash/freezes my PC on regularly map change and its freaking annoying to hrad restart my Pc all the freaking time. When they patch it and i can play the game normally i will change the review

What is Drova Forsaken Kin?

The short answer?
Its Gothic 1/2 without the Piranha bytes Studio's jank (i love your Games!) and in an beautiful 2D pixel graphic

The long answer?
Drova was a REAL suprise for me. Never heared from the game hours before its release and i just heared 2D Gothic? Watches a few Vids and instantly bought it. No regrets,
Graphics:
The Game looks gorgeously with its 2D Pixel look. The details in the world are insane. Enemies Corpses rot slowly over the ingame weeks where u killed them. Everywhere are Animals, the good and the bad ones, the world FEELS alive. Hitboxes are good, no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ there, the Night is dark and u need your torches. graphics 10/10
Fighting:
Well fighting is one of its greates Part and i cant complain. U have 4 Melee Waepons Categories:
Swords and Spears as 1 Handweapons and Axes and Dualdaggers for 2 Handweapons. There are Shields and Slingshots u can use with the 1 Handweapons and an Bow for 2Hand range attacks. Theres magic in form as Scrolls and Runestones (later in the game).
Fighing is fun in Drova. You dodge, block, attack your enemies and try to stay alive yourself with easy controls. WASD for movement, 1-8 for your skills/magic, F G H J for your 4 consumables Slots. Left mouse for attack, right for block, space for dodge. Standard controls which are fine but are changeable. You can play on controler which i did not. No idea but u have the Option!
Enemies:
God i love this. U have the enemies from Animals (rats, giant Gnats, Spiders,Wolfs Bears...) to Keltic Fantasy Monsters like Spriggans, Leshens, Harpys, Undead,Foglings etc... and classic other Humans! Which are naturally the most dangerouse enemies.
Its Gothic Styl Enemies which means that u can fight and kill the most highlevel of Enemies at level 1 and theoretically win, your chances are just tiny. But i love this feeling of not been able to win aganist an Monster, just to retrun later and then bent them over your knee (I mean u Wyrms!)
Story:
The Story is O.k, its nothing breathtaking but it had its Ups. They made me feel like a POS at the End of Act 3 but thats for you to find out yourself.
World:
Its feels good to walk Drova. The World feels alive thanks to the NPCs and the "Background" critters.
NPC have their Daily Routine. They get angry when u walk into their Home and beat the everliving ♥♥♥♥ out of u when u steal in front of them. Stealing... one of the few not so great things. Stealing in Drova is WAY to easy. Just wait until the NPCs are sleeping then walk slowy into the house and rob them off everything. There is no "Did u steal my ♥♥♥♥ u maggot"-function and that is missing. After u stole then the Npc do not react when they awake. Would be great when they added it later. Quest are good, u have your standard kill Monster x in place Y or get me W for Person P. But there are others quests too. Riddles,a little detectiv play, playing with Children (yes i did go Nemeton) and Animals (i love u Cay)
Game:
There is no handholding in Drova its Oldschool find it out yourself and thats as it should be.
In my 40 Hours i had 2 Bugs. 1 Minior Bug was that after casting the Spell Thunderstorm an infinite Storm followed me even in Houses and caves which looks out of place to see raing in caves ^^ 1 Reload all was good. The Second bug was a bit more annoying but not "end of the World i want a refund". As i told i went for The Nemeton Faction Route and when i went to the Remnants (the 2 Faction) an NPC called Fulk went full verbal assault on me which normally were 3 mean sentence to me and all good. But he did it an infinite times. He held me Hostage and verbal abused me forever so i cound't even press ESC to reload. I reported the bug and hopefully u will not have it. This bug logged me out of 1 minior Merchant which caues no harm.
Well if I have read until here, thanks =? What are u waiting for? Get the game for 20 Bucks (at the time of release) and lose yourself in an Pearl of an RPG.

CON:
The campaign is sadly finished in 7-10 Hours (in how good u are, which level of difficulty u play)
The Servers (ATM of this review 26.09.2024) are ♥♥♥♥♥, disconnects, laggy games although im the host???
The multiplayer has hackers :( (PVE and PVP, where PvP is more annoying)
u play the Ultrasmurfs aka the Posterbois (i dont hate hen ;) i just an Salamander at Heart)

PRO:
The campaign may be short but its awsomly made, the Nids feel countless and Chaos is Strong (maybe to strong *couch* Gors who can block Tunderhammers and Powerfists endlessly *couch*
PvP is short and snappy (Matches take from 5 to 10 minutes, feels like OLD CoD Deathmatches, easy and fast fun)
The Grahics are really good (only have an 3070 Ti but runs really well, somethime i drop to 40 ish frames but thats rarely so)
PvE Operations are fun and the classes differ (still needs buffs for a few classes/weapons *at the moment of the review* and i wish there where more then 6 ATM

Do i recommend it? YES
Seasonpass? Not necessary, its pure Fluff, all nesessary contents will be Free for all. Armor fluff is paid Dlc u can live without

Spiel ist nen reinfall, bedauer es geholt und nicht rechtzeitig zurückgegeben zu haben. Habs auch eig. nur Coop gespielt und dann auch eher nur wegen dem Coop und nicht wegen dem Game. Holt euch lieber Starshiptroopers

Performence is really bad, i have an 3070Ti and 32 GB ram on an X5800... so not that weak of an maschine and i could barley hit 50 fps

the Hub is horrible.... why 3th-Person? so i can see my shiney costy skins (whcih will come, maybe not to release) -.- i need to walk to everything, no Hotkeys for menüs, expect inventory or ESC
Enemys, which we could fight in the beta(hope there will be more Oo) were o.k each special has its distinctiv sound.... sadly the sound in the beta SUCKS and echo all over the place so u have to guess where the special comes from
Weapons... well i reached max. level 5 with 1 char cause i DC all the time and couldnt finished many missions so i only could test the 8 startweapons... a few good a few bad ones. Why do we have to level our chars in an test-beta. I could even find the option to play solo(with bots) I know from Ytubers that there was an option to play but i could find it...
Levels... well i was not blasted away... i know WH40k is Grimdark and there is almost no placed worse then a Hivecity.... but all 4 levels feeled the same... that could become better with full release, we shall see....
the "beta-Stress-test" was horrible.... the login server were good (ron and i login in before the serves came online and had to queue... with taking 15 minutes fpr 21k people before us)
Forget the Humor of Virmintide.... they is none
no banter between your characters... only "i were there and foght there blablabla..... no one cares" when the Zealot is a fanatic... well thats o.k thats lore O.k... but all 4 classes are Fanatics... even the Orgyns.... lorewise they think the Emperor is a cool dude u have to serve... in darktide? a Fanatic.... u feel no difference between the classes in their speak except that the Orgyn speak with a "big dummy" dialect
we waited 6 Years for that... 6 years they could had improve Virmintide 2 (which still has bugs from release)
Well its an "closed Beta" so their COULD be massiv improvments.... but the game releases in 6 weeks... i know im a pessimist but i see little hope...
when the game released i will not be able to play, but a week after it...and i will first test the game on heart and soul via the "xbox Gamepass" where the game will cost me 1 Dollar/Euro. Sry when i sound negativ but im REALLY disappointed
