Never really played any of the telltale games due to there not really being much ion the way of gameplay in them, but this game solves that issue. Gameplay systems are fun and rewarding, and of course the writing, voice acting and art are all top notch, great stuff, also offers good value in the way of doing a second playthrough with different choices changing a decent amount of moments

Among the multitude of fantastic Metroidvanias, (Including the first game) I cannot think of a single game that fully perfects the genre as this game does. There may be games that match and/or exceed a single area of focus when compared to Silksong, (Ex. the Ori games with platforming and graphics) but as a whole package this game absolutely has the whole package. I cannot think of a single area where the game falters.

-Graphics are handcrafted and vibrant
-The score by Christopher Larkin has a wide range, from peaceful and haunting town themes, to adrenaline pumping boss themes
-Gameplay is responsive and tightly tuned
-The story is a bit underplayed, but the addition of the voiced protagonist brings much more opportunity for purposeful storytelling than the first game had
-The price and amount of content should frankly put AAA devs to shame. I would have happily paid $40 or even $60 for this game, but the choice to make it affordable shows a tremendous amount of humility, and complete lack of selfishness from the developers

Simply put, I believe this is the best Metroidvania ever made. It is well worth your money at full price, and while it may turn some away with its difficulty, I believe those who are able to push past it will find nothing short of a masterpiece.

Some small seeds of promise for sure, but absolutely unplayable right now. Do not spend your money on this until it is earned by the devs.

I am still working my way through the game now, but I am floored by the quality and quantity of content on display here. As a survival horror fan, this game has clearly earned a spot among the numerous quality indie titles within the genre from recent years. Games such as Signalis, Tormented Souls, and many more show that there is a vast amount of games out there fulfilling the demand for quality survival horror experiences outside of the AAA mainstays like Resident Evil. I have been eagerly awaiting this games release for over 2 years, and I cannot say I am in any way displeased, very excited to see what the Dev does next :)

It is truly amazing how much quality content is in here already at just the launch of early access. It already outpaces the finally version of the first game. An absolute must play for any roguelike fan. It is not required, but I would recommend playing the first game before this. On top of just being one of the best games in the genre, it will give you a lot of extra context for the story.
