A game that has everything, where you'll be questioning the depths of your ADHD tendancies. This game has been a breath of fresh air- even the clunkiness of certain things has its charm. I have never been one for reviews, but this is a solid game to get lost in, if you're an MMO lover, cozy game player(this is a bit of a stretch), soulslike player, witcher/ghost of tsushima player...there is somehow a bit of everything for everyone. Stop reading reviews- try it, get your own opinion of the game, it's free! I will recommend if you're a story enjoyer, do Chinese audio with English subs, the English audio is incomplete- moving moments and heartbreak are either unsynced, unvoiced or ruined by a closed mouth. The English audio is new, so don't hold it against them while its in an incomplete state.

Few gripes of mine to lookout for and you may experience it yourself- yes...the amount of menues! I still drown in menu bloat, but that's a non-issue. Online play- raaagh. Being South African, we always have high ping on every game we play (300-800 ping), I'm used to it... but on a game like this, doing Guild Break Army and Hero Realms...it hurts my soul with the level of input delay and lag. Other guildies from EU seem to experience the same thing (to the same extent, I am unsure), but it has completely made me hold off on team play as I feel I am just a useless sack of meat in the corner weighing a few tons...because dodging mechanics feel HEAVY in online play- But hey, if you're not living so far South that people forget your country exists- you may still find the lag incredibly bearable! :D I keep to solo play and join multiplayer merely for my dailies, those are do-able with a few extra clicks!

The impact of the lag on multiplayer won't change my overall great impression of this game, because I came here for the Wuxia experience, and by the wind...I am getting that!

One of the most incredibly stunning journeys you can go on. From the stories hidden in secret areas and items, to the most visually satisfying scenes/boss fights- Simply amazing. Love the game, love the voices, love the visuals- all rounder 9/10 if it didn't have those random little freezes at important moments (Something to overlook if you push through, it's not a constant) it would be a solid 10.

Welp... It truly was OUR LIFE... And now I am a mess yet so happy I played this.

Usually I am not one for these games (usually due to limited options and shallow stories) But...this truly lived up to OUR LIFE, it took me back to my childhood, had me grinning and relating so hard on certain things. A bit of nostalgia and fond memories- the very concept of this entire game...LIFE, and it was truly a beautiful life to somewhat relive through the game.

The vast amounts of dialogue options, the way modern day topics AREN'T shoe-horned in from gender/romance/family dynamics etc...It felt wholesome, it felt...perfect. I am walking away from this treasure grateful I got to relive some of the memories of growing up.

Thank you for such a lovely experience, and thank you... for reminding me of what Life is about.
(OK MAN BUT COVE!??! MY FACE HURTS FROM GRINNING AND MY HEART ACHES)

Doing a series playthrough in 2023, with no prior experience of the games before the remaster. So take this with a grain of salt <3 Overall rating? 4/10 I'd say 5/10 just because Yakuza series has been a pleasure storywise (Yakuza 0 I am looking at you) Why the rating:
-You play House and Dad more than Yakuza in this one (Not a fault, just pacing is off)
-Annoyingly unnecessary quests (chase scene after chase scene)
-Every game Yakuza weapons are different...in this, weapons suck! Use your fists! But Guns are at least better than previous games- NPCs won't use them, they just watch you!
- Boss fights are INCREDIBLY dragged out and boring
- BLOCK, BLOCK BLOCK. It's the winning recipe for both you and the enemy.
-Crowd caging in fights, especially nauseating for those motion sensitive- also plain annoying.

There are other nitty gritty things like annoying sounds and droning sounds, and SOUND issues, but I care little for that seeming it's just a remaster. Looking forward to the next game, it can only go up!

Having the ability to now play Yakuza 0 before Kiwami is -chef kiss- those who recommend playing Kiwami BEFORE Yakuza 0 are the sickos who read the last page of a book before even starting it. Having Played 0, made this all the more impactful and memorable.

Kiwami is less of a time sink on side games like 0, but enjoyable to play. If you're here for the story, enjoy the haul, I recommend you start from 0 and make the climb through the games! Now, if you'll excuse me... I have to go cry a bit.

Balance the side quests, mini games and the main story...and you have the perfect game. Spent far too much time shedding tears and laughing. Solid 11/10.

Sadly it being a reading simulator with 0 interactive aspects, got me disappointed. Honestly never played a game like this before, so I didn't expect JUST reading. If it's your cup of tea? Go right ahead, prop your legs up, sit back and get yo reading face on.
