A disapointing and hollow game. Was aware it would be a vastly different style of game from bloodline 1, but even if you treat it as a standalone game its just a poor videogame. The world feels void of interaction, sidequests have zero substance, there is no diverse gameplay option - the only approach you can take in any situation is direct combat, despite vague stealth mechanics. I feel cheated in a lot of ways because they clearly used the name of bloodline to engage fans of the original and increase sales despite putting no heart or effort into their product.

Incredibly disappointing that a huge developer like Bethesda could release such an empty game. Starfield feels void of any life or energy.
The plot and characters are hollow and uninteresting. it feels like there is an endless amount of vast planets but nothing on them to entertain you.
There are so many loading screens that the flow of game play is constantly interrupted.
I was really excited to customise my own ship but quickly became infuriated by all the limitations. Mostly all I want to do is increase ship storage, but as soon as I add one part the whole thing no longer fly; Inventory management is torture.
It's just an un-fun experience, it feels like no passion of thought went into it's creation. Bethesda as a whole seems to be prioritising size and quantity than quality which is really sad when they created such amazing games like Skyrim and fallout 3 and 4.

At it's core this should be a great game. It has diverse and unique character development and classes. I love the story elements and 'book' segments.

The flaw that ruins this game is it's clunky and asinine combat. The game gives you the option to switch between turn-based and real-time combat and, in my experience, you have to switch between two depending on the fight, so the game never give you a chance to get to grips with either combat method. Many early enemies also have bizarre condition with which you need to kill them: spider swarms are immune to any damage except AOE and skeletons resist any weapon except bludgeoning; in order to kill enemies like this you need very specific equipment, skills and spells which constricts the players ability to experiment with builds and classes. There are some scrolls and items like alchemist's flasks to aid with these situations, however if you have no class or aptitude to use them you're out of luck.

Now if you manage to push through these fights you're presented with a new issue, permanent de-buffs. These are common and cause havoc early game. You can heal them with rest and restoration spells or potions, however sometimes they will fail and it may take multiple rests or spells to remove these conditions.

I may be missing something everyone else can see. The are many enemies which seem well balanced and manageable: spiders, bandits, wolves, etc. yet, they only need to slot in a single enemy, whose stats are nothing impressive, with a single strange condition for fighting it and the game is impassable.

I really wanted to like this game and was so excited at the plethora of classes, sub-classes and combination. however there's no chance to explore these options throughout the game because of the limitations that are placed on you.

Still i'll look forward to a sequel, hopefully one that's more refined.
