Horse girls first, the rest nowhere

It's a game that pulls from many places to create something incredibly solid. The sin city aesthetic and the OST are simply superb. Good game that people should give a chance, specially for how cheap it gets when it's on sale

Incredible story, storytelling and graphics

This is a weird game for me. While I do believe it has a lot more positives than negatives, my issues lie with a personal history.

This game demands a lot of you. It was my first Persona game, with the only previous Atlus game I had played being Catherine on the PS3. The start is very, and I mean VERY, slow. I tried getting into the game multiple times before through the game pass copy, but I always uninstalled early on. At moments in the story, you barely touch your controller, so if you have an issue with visual novels, I don't believe it's a game you'll truly enjoy. I feel like the tutorial only truly ends when you finish the first dungeon, and that is multiple hours long.

I bought the game on steam to get me to actually finish it so I wouldn't just waste the money, and lo and behold, I actually managed to see the credits this time. The combat is fun and well thought out, the story is good too and the characters are very endearing with a few exceptions that just go too deep on cliches.

My biggest issue with the game would be two things. For one, it's the over sexualization of one specific character, and all of them being high schoolers, it just left a strange taste in my mouth. The second and biggest gripe is that the game overstays its welcome in the royal version. It's very clear and obvious where the original game ends, and after that point it all just feels like a drag. There's no challenge combat wise since you're so over leveled, the story feels a little cheap with them taking back character developments to give reason for what happens and for 'more' character development? So they can get back to the point they were at before? The whole idea of 'the menace is kinda the same but mirrored' is just weird and didn't land with me, so the end took a lot of my enjoyment out of it all.

Overall, it's still a great game. I don't think it's a 10/10 or the most incredible jrpg ever made like some other people seem to believe, but it's a good, solid game that has its issues, so I can't not recommend. Just beware that the game is very slow.

My only issue is with the connection to your server and how laggy it can get, granted it may have improved over time.
