I am a relatively consistent Paradox defender and fan, to the extent that I even defended the DLC policy of CK2 back in the day.

Despite that, even *I* can see the state BioGenesis released in is unacceptable. I do not recommend that you buy it because it is quite literally unplayable at the moment. The devs are have released 5 hotfixes in the last 5 days each with a bugfix list that is at least 20 points long. I'm glad they're taking action, but the idea that the product would be released in such a state is insane.

Despite the 100s of bugs fixed, the game is still so broken that I don't want to bother launching it, so I may as well have just lit $25 on fire. The dev statement on the matter is that they apologize but it was a judgement call they'd seemingly make again, showing a stunning lack of care for their player base that has consistently bent over backwards and gone to bat for them.

The people saying the content of the DLC is good, and that it's the update that is bad are misleading you. It doesn't matter, the game is unplayable in its current state. Revert to the last 3.x version and hold off on this DLC from now. A massive shame for a lover of the *idea* of the new pop system and someone who consistently plays with all the systems BioGenesis sought to improve.

Welp, there goes any emotional stability I've managed to cultivate in my 2 decades on this planet.

The writing of this game is not like any visual novel you've played before. You're doing yourself an incredible disservice skipping it, ESPECIALLY if you're queer.

Also, I won't harp on how great Cove is, because most people here have already shared my thoughts. However, I will say that this VN, is the FIRST one I've ever played that has successfully managed to make me care about secondary characters. I started playing this game for Cove, and I found myself actively making decisions that meant I would miss out on feel good scenes with him because I wanted my character to be there for his sister, or make a new memory with his cousin. The relationships between the protag and their FAMILY, not just their relationship with Cove, feels natural and real, and you as the player end up with a similar attachment to them as a result.

This gave left me thinking: "I want to write something this good," and in my mind, that's the best thing a piece of art can *ever* do.
