Great game, loving it. Glad I got it for free for the 2025 Skulls Event deal. I can tell that the DLC stuff is predatory but aside from the game-price level DLC costs it's really nice. Good controls, performance, graphics quality, and overall gameplay for each faction. My only quip outside of the DLC costs if the game itself is a bit overpriced but that's partially because I'm a cheap little ♥♥♥♥. It'd be a reasonable no-second-thought purchase for $20.

It's... Okay. It's worth the $7.49 I paid for on Sale but not really worth the $15 standard cost. I'm kind of a cheap ass though so take that as you will. The story is decent, the character animation is way better than the base game as well as the lighting in cinematics. It is rather short and the story is somewhat lackluster but the environments totally make up for it. I saw some comments comparing the later levels to the more action-packed ones in the base game but it's not really at all comparable in the slightest, I don't know why they made such a comparison outside of "Hey, it's like the linear combat levels later on in the main story" as they are no where near as cool as the base game's.

Overall, 7/10, would def recommend buying it on sale if you enjoyed the main game.

Lovely game, 9/10. Great scenery, enjoyable open world scavenging, pretty bug free, and a decently intriguing storyline. Definitely worth grabbing for a singleplayer experience the $10 on sale.

I've never played this game as an adult. Played it a while ago, didn't find it that enjoyable and uninstalled. That's ok and completely fine, it's just not my cup of tea.
However they refuse to delete my account upon request after submitting two tickets and I'm a bit salty about that so yeah I'd like to be able to control my own account please and remove it from gamersfirst database thanks.

This review is prior to the Exodus update which was launched sometime after I refunded the game.

I find this game to be very fun in a way that is a great resolution to a RTS survival game that only maybe a handful of developers have accomplished in such a nice and simple fashion like Cepheus Protocol. The reason of my initial refund was due to the amount of bugs I continued to experience during the first two hours of playtime. I found it unbearable and annoying to the point I just couldn't have any fun with it. With that being said, seeing all the new videos and screenshots gives hope that those bugs I experienced have been fixed and additional content has not made prior issues worse.

I've come to heavily distrust early-access games due to the amount of abandonware i've experienced, but I'm hoping Cepheus Protocol will be one of those rarities where the Early Access has a genuine chance of being enjoyable pre-launch and an absolute blast on leaving early-access. The game has a lot of promise, just needs more time to cook.
